Are Warlocks ONLY being used for Self Resurrect..?
Well, it has appeared to me (through personal group compositions*) that people are just making warlocks to Self Res in Nightfalls, Hard Raid modes.. Crucible..? (Haha)
While it [i]is[/i] bloody useful.. I just personally think that they could be used in better ways. What do you guys think?
(*2 of my friends made warlocks AFTER other classes just to self resurrect. (One was a hunter, the other, a titan.) Now, my group will generally consist of 3-4 warlocks, a titan and whichever class I'm playing..)

I personally like the Voidwalker side which can be turned into a "Firefly" powerhouse with perks such as Bloom and it also has Life Steal which is helpful for Hard Mode Crota checkpoint. In terms of Sunsinger, the self-ressurect is eyed out as the other super perks can be not as helpful. I only found Song of Flame useful for pushing templar off back in the day. On top of that, if I'm correct the other perk gives more health during Radiance which isn't as necessary as the super already gives a shield. Then, we get to Fireborn, which is more variable. Whether, someone is learning the ropes through Destiny and has mishaps or a rather skilled player just makes a random mistake, Fireborn can cover it up. From my Borderlands 2 days, I actually prefered using the chick that could revive teammates from afar with her "super" and this translates from that. Finally, when it comes to Hard Mode Crota, some groups will say it's worthless as most restart after someone dies, but if you're far in the battle and you die, you can ressurect and help shoot the Oversoul and vanquish Crota. This is where I believe we get Sunsingers from.

Used a warlock in the beta and carried on using one in the game only use self res in nightfalls and raids apart from that I use my voidwalker

In Crucible can be used to reduce cooldowns for team. Void walkers though are becoming quite popular in the Raid for the beginning.

I run void walker 99% of the time I run self res on stupid nightfalls like valus other then that I use the radiant skin perk

My first character was a warlock, and when going into a raid or nightfall, I use sunsinger for self-res. Don't get me wrong, I don't save it up until I die. If there are enemies around and it's charged, I use it and generate orbs.

Gunslinger Hunter here. I've had so many cases where I was last guardian standing, even with a raid full of warlocks. If I made a Sunsinger, I would never use self revive.

Only use Sunsinger for special occasions such as nightfall or Hard Crota for orbs. Voidwalker is much better overall.

I originally made it because it was my preferred class, so the self res is an added bonus.

2 RepliesIn a nightfall, I'll absolutely use self res unless it's strictly void burn, because being kicked to orbit sucks. Also, unless it's void burn, odds are your nova bomb won't kill any adds that are actually dangerous, and it exposes you to a lot of fire if you're going for a lot of trash kills. It's silly not to use self res in these situations. That said, voidwalker with obsidian mind is the most fun class in the game.

Edited by mFn: 1/31/2015 10:46:25 PMI made a Warlock after I first made a Hunter (both maxed Subclasses, prefer Gunslinger but I main Bladedancer when patrolling/Crota Raid) And then a Defender Titan (maxed Defender, working on Striker) Made a Warlock after I bought the Starfire Protocol one or two weeks ago, specifically for Self-Revive (useful in VoG, a bit of a crutch when fighting Crota) But holy crap can it save being kicked to Orbit when your Fireteam dies right when you reach the final boss.
