Legendary handcannon discussion.

I want to make this very clear at the beginning that this is just my opinion. Regardless of what is said in this thread by me or anyone else it's merely me trying to point stuff out. Not trying to change anyone's mind or say anyone is wrong. Anyway i've wanted to make this topic for quite some time. Aside from myself the community has really shown a love towards this type of weapon that I don't feel is matched by any other class of weapons. So with this thread I'd like to discuss a few of these weapons in hopes to show you guys a perspective. FateBringer. I figured it would be best to start with the communities deemed "best legendary." FateBringer is unique in 2 ways. It's the only hand cannon to have firefly and it does arc damage which not many things do. With outlaw it also basically gives a free sped up hunter reload that you could get from gunslinger. It's a solid gun in single targets but mainly shines in crowd control. But I also put this gun last among the one's i'm going to talk about because it's stuck at the 300 cap. Right now it's not a big deal but when more dlc drops it's going to fade out. Word of Crota. This gun doesn't get enough credit. But frankly it does more damage then FB against bosses. In fact that's what WoC excels at. Due to it's High ROF and phantom gift along with 331 max damage it pretty much the best legendary for sustained damage. Phantom gift can be activated with any 3 head shots, they do not need to be in a row. Timur's lash. Honestly it rivals hawkmoon (normal shots) in damage per shot. I'm not 100% on stats for hand cannons...but i'm pretty sure timur's lash has the highest impact of any legendary hand cannon. Now depending on what kind of use you want for timur's will depend on what you want perk wise. If you are going for pvp then you probably want perks that increase your reload speed and stability. Field scout is only really needed if you plan on making your timur's for pve like me. In any case there are some fantastic roles for it and coupled with it's highest impact it makes it as a top tier hand cannon. I'm not going to mention any other legendary handcannons. The one's you get from the factions have all random stats (if gifted instead of bought) and generally won't match up to Timur's. Not to say that they can't be good. I actually have a devil you don't that got a decent stat roll and it's plenty useful. This was mainly a comparison of the top tier legendary HC's. If you ask my opinion on which is best this is how I see it. For PvE FB=WoC>Timur's. I say that they are equal because they both are really close to each other. But they both excel in different areas. Plus they both have an element while being a primary which is important in pve. They both are situational. But i'd say those situations appear about the same amount overall in pve. Timur's is at the bottom of the 3 in PvE because it lacks an element. If it had one I'd say it could replace WoC in terms of boss damage...maybe. For PvP I'd say Timur's>WoC>FB. Timurs has the ability to 2 shot in pvp if you have final round or luck in the chamber. And because of it's ability to have different perks you can totally roll some great setups for pvp. WoC/FB are lower because their element damage doesn't mean anything for pvp. WoC is higher then FB because zen moment and phantom gift. That extra bullet might not be a life savor all the time but at least it's always an extra few shots. FB's outlaw is also good. But firefly is going to be a lot harder to use and make a profit from the explosion. Meaning FB is a good legendary with a super fast reload...But that's about it for pvp. Besides being the top 3 legendary HC's I also chose these 3 for other reasons. Fate bringer is frequently over hyped by a lot of people. It's hard not to when you see ton's of thralls explode. Word of Crota actually gets trash talked. Which admittingly is easy to see if you look at the stats alone. And I chose Timur's Lash simply because it's not seen or talked about frequently. But it should be. I'm going to state this one more time in hopes to avoid the FB defense force. I'm not trash talking the FB. Nor am I trying to put it in a negative light. I'm simply trying to give a rational un biased review of these guns. This thread is not meant to sway anyone nor tell anyone else their opinion is wrong. It's merely here so people can gather a different perspective other then their own or the popular one. Thanks to anyone who took the time to read.

  • Don't usually get lucky but got a venation III with outlaw, send it and crowd control and it's pretty great.

    • Timurs lash Slow RoF hurts it in PvP. Unless you are using it as a long range, hang back like a pussy weapon - you are better off going for a faster firing alternative such as any of the faction HCs or the TFWPKY with a good perk roll. Would not use FB in PvP, has no decent perks for it besides a quicker reload (not critical in PvP) and has no added range / stability upgrades.
