has anyone actually sat down and listened to Xur?
He says really cool things. Most importantly, he mentions that he is from beyond the Reef.
[b]"The pull of the outer worlds is so faint here, the sun is so heavy"[/b]
And

Something that just occurred to me:
Are the Nine the nine planets? Due to the quote, "My movements are, to a significant degree, controlled by the planetary alignments." Makes for a skull scratcher, eh?

Xur is a native of the Jovians, gas planets beyond the asteroid belt in the Reef. The awoken were humans corrupted by the darkness and the Jovians are ruled by the Nine. The darkness is at the edge of our solar system which you can assume that the closer you are to it the more likely you will either be corrupted by it or in Xurs case change completely. Xur even says that the light causes him pain.
