Everytime I ran through the raid doesn't matter what difficulty it is I'm always to blame. I can't hear half the thing my teammate say even though I have game sound muted and party chat volume max out. It become a burden when almost every team I go into the raid with end up kicking me just because they claim I can't "communicate" I'm partly deaf I tell people that just so they understand and yet still kick me. Now I feel my current group is gonna do that exact same thing because of crotas end HM. Half the time I feel like I should just give up and get rid of this game.
Edit1: glad to know there are people who support and/or have the same disability
Edit 2: I'm on the one and sometime 360. I appreciate that people offer to do the raid/weekly with them.
Edit 3: wow such amazing and surprising response from the destiny community.
Edit 4: I should be more clear about my current group. They tell me they wouldn't kick me out of the group but half the time I feel they will because of how frustrated it can be.
Edit 5:surprised people are still replying to this post. Make me glad that there alot of people that care on this game.

My recommendation is you tell them Bout your disability and before you start that specific part of the raid ask them to message you what to do since you are having trouble hearing. For raids many give people a specific role based on equipment and class. I'm sure you'll have trouble a couple of times but you should get the hang of it

+1 bump people need to see this!!
-
I got kicked out of a raid at Crota not because I was bad, but because my voice was high.. Not very nice, and clearly I don't have feelings..
-
Stay positive man, but don't place too much importance in it. Only do it if it's still fun.
-
Start your own group and be the one giving out the orders! If your going for hard CE you must be at least partly experienced at raiding I'd follow.....
-
You can msg Cypher02xd on the one anytime you want a hand with anythign.
-
I have a decent method of communicating with you. Just stay on destinylfg chat with the fireteam leader so they can let you know what the play is for the current objective. If you had it for PS4, I'd run the raid with you. I'm a 32 hunter, and I ran 5 randoms from LFG through Crota hard this weekend. Good luck man.

message coldstop97 for hard raid if you want
-
God bless you good sir and your always welcome to join me on any raid.
-
I'd give it a go if you were on PS4. Quite a few of my friends would help as well. Just gotta let us know to speak up and all is good.
-
Not on Xbox but if your ever around the psn servers give me an add.
-
bakenfunk1 add me on xbox. I'll run it with you ANYTIME. Don't hate being partially deaf. It's your gift and you should see it that way. Least you don't have to listen to A LOT of a--holes bitchin all the time. :) I'm more than happy to play with anyone that just likes to have fun and play. Great Post and Keep it Movin!

I would suggest using the in game moves like dance, point, sit to indicate certain things. Have your team dance on areas where they want you to be. Also if the other 5 are moving it's probably a good idea for you to move with them.

Get some over the ear headphones and crank the volume up? Sorry about your troubles buddy, I have tinnitus and that's annoying enough. I sympathize with you.
-
Add me. Bloody Str1ker on XB1. I'll be happy to take you on a raid.
-
You deserve the best raid group in the world!!
-
Wow, I'm not alone! I'm also half deaf and this is pretty reassuring seeing that I'm not the only one struggling with this problem. Thanks for posting this.

I would say ask your group for links to videos that show the strategy they want to use. And simply have them message you the role they want you in for each stage. I've done plenty of raids, before I got gaming headphones, during which I couldn't communicate at all with my team, and turned the chat volume to zero because it was bothering me, and we still managed to get through just fine. Hopefully, they support you in your quest to enjoy the game alongside them. It sounds like you're dedicated and I imagine you more than make up for any disability effects in other areas like skill, concentration, etc. Hang in there, and best of luck.

@AllergicAlloy, you should not hate your disability just because there's something you can't do what other players can. I am Deaf myself and I am proud of myself for who I am. I don't feel sorry or anything, [smile]. I do realize, however, that the number of Deaf players playing Destiny game are quite small. Funny thing is I've never told a single person in any group(s) that I am Deaf whenever we played through Raids. Usually, I just tell them "I don't have a mic but know what I'm doing" and they were more than happy to invite me. I do have to admit that the first time I played the Raid (VoG), I did not know what I was doing and, because I died so many times that I wiped out the entire team, one leader had to kick me out. I wasn't happy about that and did not know what to expected. After I studied about what the players are suppose to do to get through the Raid (thanks to Youtube), I was like "OOhh, I did not know that!" So soon after I joined other group(s) and went for Raid again, I actually made all the way from start to the end (haven't beat it just yet) without the need of mic. It went smooth! It's all about knowing what you're doing and keep an eye on other players to see what/where they're doing/going. I am on PS3 and I'd love to team up with you if you're on PS3! :) There are plenty of rude people out there and it's nothing we can do to stop them. However, we can always avoid them by finding our own group(s) that are nice and respectful to each other.

Watch videos on the method your group is trying to do, that way you know when everything is going to happen, you still have eyes so you can see everything that goes on. as long as you can study the raid inside out you'll pull through it without even having to hear people talk.

There was a similiar post a while back. I am sorry I cant remember the name but there is an entire clan devoted to the hearing impared. You might try looking it up on google.

My dad is deaf in one ear and I feel you. I am on Xbox 360. Gt: crazyduckyz. I usually get kicked because I'm too little or make a silly mistake. I know that does not compare to your problem but I hope I can empathize with you. If you ever need to do a raid or something or another. Hit me up on Xbox 360 if you ever need someone to play with. I'm not on often because my dad took away my Xbox and says to do better things or what ever. I hope people don't get mad at you because of something you can't fix. I have ADHD and people at my school bully me for it. They bully me for something I can not fix. I feel ya. I don't have many friends on Xbox so I hope you and I could play together sometime
my life story
