Looks like bad news for you if you enjoy imported chocolate from this side of the pond.
According to a legal settlement between Hershey's Chocolate and an import business based in the US that specialises in UK / Irish confectionery, the flow of chocolately goodness from Ireland to the States has been stopped. Permanently.
The settlement between Hershey's and LBB and other importers was in response to infringement on trademark and trade dress agreements.
Hershey's Chocolate manufactures its own kind of Cadbury's Chocolate in the US, but does not use the same ingredients or material that Irish and UK versions of it.
It'll mean that import shops that specialise in Irish goods will no longer be able to carry the likes of Dairy Milk, Roses, Turkish Delight or even Crunchies.
The agreement will also see Nestle products, such as KitKat, Toffee Crisp, Yorkie and many more removed from the States.
I'm not the biggest eater of chocolate myself but you can't beat a dairymilk bar, what's your chocolate bar of choice?
