Here is myself and the guys killing Crota for the first time on hard. It was a pretty epic moment for myself so I wanted to share. I also hope others trying this method might be able to take some hints on what's effective.
We started off using the right hand side as our platform up to Crota but found that the time taken running round that way didn't allow us three attacks with one sword. We adjusted then to use the chalice platform initially and then move left as it feels like shorter time moving between attacks.
I just want to say as swordbearer, for me, the most important thing is knowing my team will output the damage required to down Crota in good time. Knowing this is what gives me the confidence to spend as little time as possible off the platform and not moving in for the attacks, as ideally, to get as many hits as possible you want to be attacking the moment his shield is down.
I wish everyone the best of luck killing the big blue son of a bitch.
Edit; people are curious about the hunters agility jumping from chalice platform.
The trick was to choose the second jump. In the bladedancer sub-class
I believe it's just called higher jump. And of course max your agility with whatever of the stats combination gives you most. And finally the raid boots which as a 32 you have.
In the room with Crota's soul, if you can jump straight from the floor to the top of one of the doors you should have enough agility.
