Xur is a Jovian... Aka he's from Jupiter or Saturn or one of their moons. Also read the grimoire about the 9. We still don't know exactly what or who they are but we do know that they are probably going to be a driving factor that takes us to Europa etc.

I thought the Jovians were just from the Jovian Complex on earth

Yup Kash nailed it. If you Google "Jovian" that is a term that has been around for a long time. In the context of the game, however, Xur is a Jovian. I'm interested to see if they all look like him, since The 9 are the Firstborn Awoken.

no they're not.

Ghost Fragment: Legends 2

-sigh- that card is nonsense.....and it was deliberately written that way.... the card also says the nine are ghosts....and it also says they're warminds...and it also says that "they" are not a "they" at all, and that the nine is a language.....and it says they are a host of other things.... none of them are meant to be taken any more seriously than any of the others...it's deliberate nonsense.. so, no, the nine are not the firstborn awoken....

-sigh- My speculation is more grounded than yours....

i didn't speculate anything...

The Jovian Complex is called that after Jupiter: my guess is that it handled traffic headed for Jupiter. P.S. "Jove" is another name for Jupiter (who was the king of the Roman gods, hence naming the largest planet after him)

Edited by SnakeDoc518: 1/25/2015 10:11:26 PM"jovian", is actually a designation for a giant planet, which is a large planet that is primarily composed of fluid material, rather than rock or other solid matter. There are four giant planets in the Solar System: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. the Jovian complex was a section of the cosmodrome dedicated to tracking, and handling operations related to the Jovian planets, much in the same way as the terrestrial complex handled terrestrial operations, and the lunar complex handled lunar operations..
"jovian", is actually a designation for a giant planet...
... Yes, and the term derives specifically from the name of Jupiter, the largest of such planets on our solar system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jovian

right, i'm just saying that "jovian" doesn't specifically refer to saturn...it's for all worlds of that classification, of which there are four, in this system...

Ah, that is interesting. Thanks for clearing that up
