  • It's not that hard, each ship piece seems to be individually made from the hull. Which means each piece has its own map, which means it's even easier to change colours cause it's a smaller map. If you know how to change the texture on the maps it's very easy and fast. Uvmaps, bitmaps, etc. it's really simple. And modelling different ships is not hard. A couple days practice and you could make one. A couple weeks practice and you can make them in a couple days or even faster. Years of schooling and experience in a team of 400 you better be able to pump them out every single day and multiple.

  • You're right it's too hard! Bungie should just give up on it because it's too difficult. That makes perfect sense..

  • Nobody's crying. Bungie is not putting in sufficient effort. They have not created adequate visual variety in a number of areas, and that variety becomes more important the larger your playerbase becomes. In a game that, at last count, was approaching - and surely has by now succeeded - 13,000,000 registered Guardians, we should not all be wearing so few things. There should not just be one piece of Raid armor for each slot. They should not be using the same small handful of equipment models across all the faction vendors; Warlocks, for example, see one helmet model used for both available helmets at the New Monarchy, once again for Dead Orbit who also offer another design, and I believe the same is true for the Future War Cult as Dead Orbit. That's two models of helmet, one of which appears four times across the three factions. Meanwhile, similar stories are true of Titan and Hunter gear, each weapon type has pretty much two models, we all ride one model of Sparrow, et cetera. It's not that things are repainted, it's that they're repainting so exceptionally few items, especially when some item pools have more models available; why aren't there Vendor Legendary-grade repaints of Crucible-won Rare-grade gear? I'd love a New Monarchy version of some of the late Al-Suhail helmets for Warlock, for instance. They're just doing too little with too little.
