First, I would like to see your competing designs. Second, there are only so many ways you can put a barrel, chamber, grip, magazine, and stock together. You're basically saying that all automatic pistols are just re-skins because they have similar dimensions and a similar mechanical design. Do you consider fighting game characters to be re-skins? They all use the same basic skeleton, just re-sized for different characters. I mean, they are all humanoids, where's the variety, right?

He does not need to have competing designs to offer criticism. It's a lot like how film critics do not have to themselves be actors, directors, and cinematographers to be able to evaluate films. Hope that helps! :D

He wasn't offering anything constructive, though. "You're pathetic, lazy, and should be fired" is all the OP is really saying. There is nothing suggested, no alternative method or solution to the problem. Good criticism offers some sort of suggestion for improvement. Just saying "it's crap, do it better" provides no useable feedback.

While I understand and advocate the value of constructive criticism, it is a logical fallacy to think or suggest one need be constructive and offer remedy to validate any observations or remarks on the quality of a thing.

Feedback of any kind is still feedback, but it means more if people share what they want to see as well. "This soup is bland, but some celery salt might improve it" is much more valuable feedback than "this soup is bland." If we don't share our ideas, there's a higher chance that whatever changes bungie implements will be poorly received, which would waste their effort and our time.

I'm sorry, but have you seen the ARs in game? They are boring as hell. Most of them look extremely similar except for some stupid little technological protrusions on the side. Every weapon class is like that. The only thing with variation is the Class Items, and whomever decided that Titans Marks were the stupid cloth skirting on old plate armors is an idget.... And Warlock Bonds are stupid. Regardless, to the main point: Weapons need more legitimate variation, not the same base models with a couple little aesthetic bullshitteries taped on. Just because it has a blinky red light duct taped to the side doesn't make it a different weapon. Same goes for armor. There is 3 different versions of the PvP armor (2 current, 3 variations of the old version used with new stats) and 2 Vanguard armor types. The final 'tiers' of armor are the new Raid armor... Hurrah, we're all cookie cutter McCardboard Cut-Out.

Out of the 5 ARs currently available in the tower, there are 3 distinctly different frame designs. That's not bad, considering that in the real world, the vast majority of military-style rifles are either M-16/M-4 clones or Kalashnikov clones. What kind of designs would you suggest? One of the biggest problems I see on this forum is how many people say "You guys should do X better," yet fail to offer any suggestion regarding what, exactly, would be better.

I was wrong, there are 2 visual types of every weapon type (Excluding the special ones, such as Eidolon Ally / Necrochasm / Husk of the Pit). They do look VASTLY different. But the problem is.... Its just those two. Honestly, I think there should be some that look more similar to M16s and AKs and whatnot.
