Dps stays the same as they raise and lower impact RoF accordingly, but the real issue is when they nerfed autorifles the crippled them as viable in end game pve combat

The base damage barely went down 2% IIRC. Headshot crit multiplier was fair, if you want massive headshot damage, you shouldn't be using an automatic gun to begin with.
