Need honest opinions about Dragon Age: Inquisition.

I have a question or several about Dragon Age: Inquisition. I've had this game for about three weeks now, I didn't know what to expect when I bought it so It was just a random buy. I played through some of the game and realized you can go to "sky view" as I call it and pause and play the game. I want to know if the game gets repetitive after a while? Does it have anything that keeps you playing or coming back to play it? The game play seems like it'll get boring very quickly I just need honest opinions, thank you.

  • Well I've seen some legit interviews with people that weren't nearly as impressed as the braindead masses or the sellout "critics"

  • It's an ok game. Only really good thing about is the story, and even that is lacking in my opinion. Bioware does this sort of thing where, they give you multiple dialogue options for things that don't even matter, the same outcome will come out of each option. Now, this isn't for every dialogue, just most of them. The gameplay is adequate, if not a little bit boring. The quests are all mostly fetch quests or kill ___ of these quests. For how many character their are Bioware will usually taunt you with options to further connect with some of the character, but will in the end fall short. Some relationships could've been built upon further to make for a more interesting time whilst at your base. It has quite a few graphical glitches, from hair poking out of your helmet, to your character being invisible in cutscenes. The character customization is very lacking, only being able to edit the face and nothing else, no size meter, no weight meter, nothing. All in all, this is an ok game, that shines above the rest simply because of this years lacking quality of games.

It can get repetitive if you let it. If you do all the companion quest and romance quests, it won't get repetitive as quickly.
BTW, the final boss is pretty dull if you ask me
edit: oh one more thing, once you beat the game, there is really nothing to do but side quests . So once you beat the game, you might as well make a new character and class instead of doing all the side quests

    • Sure it has some repetitive to it its a video game. You will close this or collect that or kills this. But it's the story that should keep you interest in playing and that has been true about a lot of Bioware games

    • If you do nothing But side quests then it will get boring quick. You have to change it up. And you can keep coming back for replays for the different classes And races. Plus you have new conversations, different decisions, different romances, etc. But the how fun the game is depends on how you play the game. Just make sure to switch things up And try new things on your second play through. P.s. I didn't like the multiplayer. Reminded me of mass effect multiplayer And I burned myself out on that a long time ago. Plus, already know how they will make People buy things. Step 1: release amazing/OP weapons. Step 2: let players use them for a while Step 3: nerf the hell out of it. Step 4: make the levels harder Step 5: remind the player that he/She can pay a small fee to buy this package And get the "edge"

    • There was some repetition, but it was very much dependent on how you played it. Switching between companions added quite a bit of variety, as did moving on to new locations and story missions when they became available. My friend did nothing but side quests and was burnt out pretty quick, but I only did enough to progress the story or level up. Things also change up quite a bit once you unlock your specialization. Overall, it's definitely a game with emphasis on story. The gameplay is enjoyable, but its also repetitive. How repetitive and grindy the experience turns out is in some ways up to how you play it.

I don't know how to explain it, I really really enjoy real time action games, I.E Batman Arkham Series,Mass Effect,Witcher,DMC,Ninja Gaiden,MGR,I want to be able to control all I do,dodge, and attack freely...that being said,I kind of really dislike dragon's ages combat system, but at the same time, It's a really good game and I've been enjoying it despite that. I recommend buying it for like.. $40-50. It looks much better on Next Gen though. It's plentiful and content and the classes are really fun to play around with.

Although I really love RPGs, I got bored of DA:I really quickly. It's like a single-player MMO with extremely repetitive quests and large open but dead areas. It's clear that they were either inspired by MMOs or that it was initially designed to be one. It gets a bit better after around 30 or so hours, if you're willing to invest your time into it. It's all about the characters and story though, so if you dislike then this far, it doesn't get much better. I can't think of anything that would make me replay it. Also multiplayer is terrible, I would avoid it.

        • I haven't touched it in over a month. The game got pretty boring with the mindless, repetitive, MMO-esque quest design and combat (where each fight is a grind). The places you can explore are big, sure, but they're dull and lifeless. It's very much a game where the design mantra was "Quantity over quality". Origins is still the undisputed king of the franchise.
