Efrideet's Spear is Overpowered

Rolled with the proper perks, I believe this rifle is a bit game breaking and should be nerfed. Certain perks shouldn't be allowed on sniper rifles (e.g. armor piercing rounds, final round). What do you guys think? I put together a montage of how ridiculous this weapon is. ***Update: I am more so asking for opinions on the perks (final round, armor piercing rounds) and wether you consider them overpowered or not on a sniper rifle. Efrideet's Spear is simply an excellent example of these perks due to the reforging option, small clip size, and massive impact.

    • snipers NEED to be powerful, as they are slow and practically useless up close. they also require the most precision, chances are if you miss, you die. every weapon has to shine somewhere.

      • Pffft. I have one. Yeah that works bigtime on Shores of Time..... Any other map and you will get maimed equipping a sniper. Someone hits me with a sniper....tip of the hat to you.... On my respawn your position is known and I will do my best to get you off of whatever point you are on.

          • Don't nerf this or any sniper rifle. It takes patience and skill to be decent with a sniper in the fusion/shotgun festival that is the Crucible. On lots of maps, especially the maps that were recently added to the list, sniper rifles are pretty hard to use. Final round on a sniper rifle certainly kicks ass, but it's still just a one shot kill where it would be two, and any sniper rifle is a one head shot kill. I say no to nerfing.

          • Honestly here yes they are powerful but I think it should stay. Both armor piercing and final round. It's a good way to counter the supers by normal means. What bungie needs to do and a lot of people have been saying this for a while now is they need to lower the amount of special ammo boxes in the crucible and extent the respawn timer for them. That would control the abuse. That's actually the main cause of the problems in crucible. It's not the perks themselves. It's the constant influx of special ammo. And that goes for all the special weapons. We have issues with shotguns and fusion rifles too because of there being way too much special ammo throughout the course of one match.

            • Final round is the most game breaking element of PVP. I've literally seen whole teams back out when they find out final round is in play.

              The idea of how quickly these weapons "ready" is pretty far off and borderline stupid if you ask me. Sniping should be a slower pace. Do that... And all is fixed

              • There's a blue sniper "silvered bouccoudo" or however the hell you spell it. If that has armor piercing w/final round it's like the spear. One of my buddies uses it and he gets so much hate mail because of it. Just goes to show that there's been snipers like the spear before. Just not used as much.

                  • Lol I played a doubles skirmish against two kids with ES and final round recently...you could hear them firing off two shots all game long, running away any time they missed so they could reload, fire two more shots off, and take another shot. My team won, but damn was it a boring, tedious match. This would be fixed, however, if they did the one thing that most players have been asking for for a while now: less special ammo. If the ammo was limited, they might think twice before wasting a ton of shots (especially since they sucked at sniping, lol). It would also limit the FR spam shots and shotgun scrubs.

                      • I'm missing something. That's a montage of kills, which is cool. But NOWHERE do you show final score? And if I look at the montage enough it's like ONE 'cool' kill per map, maybe 2. That is not OP Those perks make it good at one specific thing, but wasting ammo for a 1-shot kill all game long isn't really conducive to being "OP" quite the opposite. Gives you a few cheese kills but in between you're getting rekt? Maybe i'm off here - but what your saying and showing don't match up? G
