Distinctive play styles or weapon switcher?

I guess this question is for people who play with multiples class. I play with all three classes and I just feel better when they all have distinctive play styles. For example, my Hunter carries hand cannons and sniper rifles, Machine gun My Warlock carries Pulse rifles and fusion rifles, Machine gun My titan carries Auto Rifles and shot guns, Rocket Launcher (I do change it up a little when I am leveling up weapons, as I am doing now) They all have a backup sniper and scout rifle as well. I notice a lot of people switch their weapons around every time they go to the tower. I was able to built up an arsenal of legendary or exotics for each character to fit their style. I have the g horn but even if I got another one I would not use it because it would mess up their uniqueness. I feel for better or for worse I have to keep the players unique. It is just a little something to keep the game exciting and to experience all the weapons. Am I weird on keeping characters weaponry unique? Do other people do this as well?

  • For PvE that`s fine. Because you have a very wide margin of error, so everyone can afford to experiment, without loosing to much. In PvP it`s the exact opposite imo. You should not switch your layouts too much to cater to your class but to a combination of your playstyle plus the map you are playing. Otherwise you will get destroyed frequently.

    • I change them out should the situation call for it or if I feel like rocking a shotgun more than a sniper that day Other than that my Hunter (Main) generally has a Scout Rifle / Hand Cannon Sniper Rifle and a Rocket Launcher for my lack of area damage. Shotguns always felt natural with a Titan with an auto rifle and MG so I usually go with a Master Chief-ish loadout, I know, dumb, but I like it so bug off lol Warlocks, never was able to get a set that felt right or wrong, kinda whatever I feel like if it works it works, if it sucks, it sucks, simple as that

    • Usually have a few solid legendary weapons on each character so I don't have to chop and change (e.g run daily / bounties) the weapons over. I do have a specific PvP load out that I will swap around and obviously raid / nightfall specific weapons that usually live in the vault. Kinda running out of space though, having to store a lot on the actual characters themselves so I have a bit of space to store those 'go to' PvP weapons etc.

I have two Hunters, one is Handcannon based and the other Scout rifle based (this applies to their gear as well, not just weapons)

    • Since you can set your character up for certain weapons provided you don't use raid gear, it'd be stupid not to, at least for gameplay where you don't need to be capped out. I've got my Hunter set up for scout rifles, my Titan for handcannons and my Warlock for autorifles. Specials and heavies are situational.

    • I know what you mean. I deleted my 30 Hunter to make a second Warlock, but I just couldn't cope with the vast variety the Crucible so poorly offers. Now I strictly use Thorn 90% of the time regardless of character. For small maps I'll throw on my Vex for one, but other than that, it's just grenades at a distance and always stay behind cover. Too many shotguns and fusion rifles for my taste.
