The pursuit of exotics

I don't get it. I love the game, it has its flaws, and I keep coming back to it. But I don't understand all the people complaining about not getting one exotic or another. What's the big draw with needing to have every exotic? The way I see it, get a gun you're comfy with and play the game. If you get an exotic, then great! But don't let getting every exotic be the reason you play. I know that there will now be a barrage of negative comments, cos that's all I read in these forums, but my point stands regardless.

  • Exotic are an odd thing... The armours I like for their perks, but the guns? Meh. I've accumulated exotic weapons because of drops and bounties (actually, I lie, I did buy Plan C because friends recommended it, but I don't like fusion rifles in general... And then I got 3 good legendary drops, so C is waiting to be sharded), but the only one I really like and use is The Last Word for crucible. An Iron Banner scout has become the daily tool of my trade....

  • People are completionists. I myself want them all to try that being said I only use a couple of them on a consistent basis
