A bit late for a comment I know but only just came across it. I find the idea of fans adding to the mythology of Destiny quite interesting. I'm always reading how we as players can influence the game even if it does take the good people at bungie a while to address the changes we request (within reason). I can't see why they wouldn't if there was some kind of large organised group of some kind allowing bungie to pick and choose the best bits that don't contradict what they've already established. So really its about finding the authors of Destiny Fan Fiction and consolidating it all and getting it recognised more so within the community. Especially if some authors write regularly. As you said destiny has such a rich mythos already to build upon but if a group or a new forum heading was made easily available it could possibly fulfil the one aspect (I believe) in which destiny the game failed in... Story and character development. Yes the game did have a story but not much of one and I love the game but I don't feel for any of the character. Regular entries could do this. If some one was to write tolands war journal once a month or the misadventures or Xur. It could assist in having fans become more interested in characters and the game. The tid bits of Fan fiction I have read has been interesting but hard to come by usually I find most of it through #story but accessibility is the most important thing. Its always interesting to read where peoples imaginations can take something especially when it's based off such small exerts. It would be even better if they can could be rewarded for their work, initiative and imagination by bungie deeming it cannon to the destiny universe.
