Why do people believe in Aliens and not God? Or vice versa? "I need definitive evidence of God" Doesn't that mean you should also need definitive evidence of Aliens? And vice versa.
It seems pretty hypocritical to not believe in God because there is no proof, but to turn around and believe in aliens without proof. Same thing for the other way around.

Aliens seem more logical. The evidence for aliens is in fact us, why can't there be another life bearing planet? It's more likely than a god.
-
Are you implying all atheists unquestioningly believe in aliens? You must be mistaking us for Scientologists.
-
God is believed as a magical being that can do anything (or something like that.) Aliens are foreign species in other galaxies that we just don't know about.

*grabs popcorn and milkshake* It's not a hardcore debate, but close enough *sips milkshake *

Well, mathematically speaking, and provided our theories are somewhat correct. It's impossible for life not to exist somewhere out there.

I strongly believe in extremely high probability that sentient extraterrestrial life exists, and i also believe in the possibility in a higher power. Its probably best to prepare for one or both existing.

Edited by My_mind_powers: 1/10/2015 6:51:47 AMwhy can't God be an alien and vice versa? i think the difference is that there is a little more logic to thinking aliens exist based on many different facets concerning the universe. and that little bit of logic is just that much more than taking someone's word/reading a book about something. i think the same would be true if the situation were to be flipped around. sometime people need a little more logic to make the jump to something they can agree with while other need more and others need less. it's really not too different then the people that don't believe in global warming, the one that believe it, and the ones that have no idea what it really is but scoff at it or believe it regardless.

By definition, a god would be an alien. I've never heard someone say "God? No! Area 51? ALIENS ARE REAL!".
