Coincidence. 100%.
Sometimes RNG will seem to follow a pattern. It doesn't. It's just your mind playing games with you.

The human condition is to see some kind of pattern, so your mind forces one, and from that point on it is simply confirmation bias, when u only see what confirms your theory and ignore all outliers
-
Like the example I gave to another guy, you buy a car and then start seeing the same car everywhere when you didn't before.

Edited by jangempo507: 1/7/2015 2:07:45 PMI decided to try a green cydonia in the crucible for old times sake. It was the 1st time in a while I had one drop for me. In the last 2 nights of playing, I've had 6 more drop for me since. I feel that that wasn't 100% random.

You realize green means uncommon, right? I can get 10 green engrams in as many minutes. High drop rates =/= pattern. It just means that you are rolling more.

I am fully aware of how the colour system works. What I'm saying is that I haven't seen a cydonia for quite some time. After I equiped it, I started seeing a ton of cydonias.

I'm sure you saw an equal amount of them, you just weren't looking for it. It's like when you buy a new car and then start seeing them all over the road when you didn't see them before. By your logic, having an item equipped like the other 6 that you can equip would result in finding many more of that item, but that doesn't happen. RNG is 100% random. There is no pattern to it other than the one that your mind is making up.
