You don't know what's happening irl. They may have a legit excuse. Someone may have hurt themselves in the house hold and the player has to drop the gaming to attend to it.
And then you make it worse by being an asshole and reporting them.
Don't be so judgemental when you don't have a clue what's going on.

This is highly unlikely judging by the large number of players that are AFK in the strike playlists. Every single strike I'm in there's always one person who is "away" or isn't doing anything. We know why they aren't participating, because of RNG. If a person is having problems at home, being reported in a video game is the least of their worries, don't try and justify the freeloaders.

I report all who I see afk, I'd hope other people do the same for AFK'ers. If it's a genuine real life issue, they will have one little report on their name. If they keep doing it, they will get a stack of reports. Hopefully a stack of reports = A warning/ban from Bungie.

I just wish people join team chat and not start shooting hitting me when change guns that menu is slow to load and spazzing out on me don't make it go faster

I'm sorry Raima, but this is too common an occurrence, as the OP says, there is at least one in every strike. It wouldn't be a problem to have an afk once in every ten or so. But if someone is getting injured in a fire team members home, every strike then the Destiny strike lists would have a higher casualty rate than WWI.

This might be 1 in 10,000 of these afk losers. I ran into 3 people... THREE... In roc strikes who had an elastic band on their controller. They just ran in circles. Our only recourse? Report him, which does nothing, and then either quit the raid and re-queue or finish and let him get a reward. We opted to punch the one guy in the face until he came back to his controller and promptly left to orbit, then I sent him a PM pointing out how stupid it is to farm that way when the gear is so easy to get anyways. I also took a video of him in 'action' and screenshots and I'm thinking about posting it on every destiny forum I can find.

Yeah his mom needed help so he was "afk" for a whole strike. You get kicked halfway through by a time limit unless he moves his controller. I see what you mean, but still.

Just switch your console off. Someone else will be matchmade in your place. If you stop this from happening, you [i]are[/i] an asshole, and should be reported as such.

The mobs get DR based on the number of players. By joining and doing nothing, you're not just freeloading, you're being an active hindrance.

They actually removed that buff in November I believe? They mentioned that they would rather have all the mobs be on a static power level so that having players join would effectively make the game easier.

The update was talking about your DR, not the mobs'. You no longer get a massive health boost for playing solo, but the enemies still get DR based on how many of you there are. A simple and quick experiment you can do to confirm this is to play Siege of the Warmind, with two of your friends dancing on top of Rasputin and not helping.
