You guys and gals know what I'm talking about? When you load up the VOG and see a group full of 30s and 31s. You go to inspect their armor, and most of it is Vanguard Light 33.
"Have you done/beaten the hard raid before?"
"Yeah all the time!"
*[b]15 minutes later[/b]*
"How do we kill the Templar?"
"What's a gorgon?"
"What side is Venus?"
"There's a Conflux at Gatekeeper?!"
"Wait, those Harpies explode?"
"Why am I detained?!"
And my favorite: "There's no revives on hard?"
People. Please be honest. Personally, I [i]love[/i] explaining the mechanics of the VOG to new people. I love helping VOG virgins through it for the first time. It's awesome.
But please don't lie about it. If you say you know what you're doing, we won't explain it because we assume you've done it.
Now, what happens if you say you've never done it and get kicked from a group? Well that's a good thing. Because those people have no tolerance and patience (and time). You don't want to raid with people like that. You want a group that is forgiving, loose, chill, and can help others.
I love helping people. But please, don't lie. It makes it easier on everybody.

5 RepliesReally, there are enough fricking videos on Youtube walking you through not only VoG but CE as well. Is it really that hard to sit down and watch some pro's doing this with a commentary on how things go through fights? Granted I havn't stepped into a Raid at all yet (mostly because my schedule keeps me from being able to plunk down a specific amount of time on the game) but still! If I was going to do the raid like, tomorrow or something, I would go watch all the videos and read all the write ups on the raid so I Know what the hell I'm doing so I can be a valid part of the Raid Team. And Not a scrub.

7 RepliesI've spent my share of time in VOG and I'm not going to lie, I still don't know which side Mars and Venus are on. My team doesn't use mars/Venus. We just say right or left.

I haven't VOG'd since End of Crota, but my favorite bit was when 3 people were selected to teleport and everyone pretends to have forgotten the relic on reason taht they thought someone else got it, but really they're just afraid LOL

1 ReplyThis is so effin true don't LIE! If you don't know what you are doing be up front and most people will help you out. Or we can walk you through and wipe. There are a lot of people like myself who can only run the RAID's a specific set time and the more time we waste on people who are straight up lying the more frustrating it is for everyone.

I second this. My absolute favorite is "hey can you get me up in 30 seconds?" Um no, you need to stay alive in the hard raid there are no revives.

If you're not doing Vault of Glass you're missing out on free energies, shards and exotic shards. It doesn't take more than thirty minutes.

Lvl 31 in Mars portal with me picks up relic "I don't know how to use this thing" WHAT!?!!!!?? REALLY!? Or better yet before that we are doing the gatekeepers I run in Mars kill the gatekeeper and get the relic to come back out and find that no one went in Venus....so I went in and killed that gatekeeper too then we wiped. I will admit it's mostly my fault for the gatekeepers cause it takes me like 45secs to kill a gatekeeper and get out where it takes two guys on the other keeper to get him to half health I just work too fast for them.

Hello, Since it's Christmas I'll help out some Vault noobs, if you haven't completed the Raid at all then message me on XBL. I've completed the Raid on Hard 30+ times so it's pretty safe to say that I'll be able to help you out on Normal, I'm patient and happy to explain every section to you, just let me know what you need help understanding and I'll go through it. I'm at work right now so I'll only be Raiding tonight, about 7 hours from the time stamp on this post but if you can't make it then message me anyway, I'll run more Raids it's no big deal. I only ask one thing: Please have a mic and please listen to the tips I give you, if I tell you how to get through the section and you don't follow then you're letting the team down and you'll ruin the experience for everyone. I tend to wear my VoG gear to do the raid. You know, the heavy and special ammo perks. They really help.

I've been seeing comments about mars side and Venus side, which is wrong. Actually mars side is Venus, it is the futuristic desolate Venus while the"Venus" is the younger version. Hence why we always see after a clear with the oracles the buff, timestream. Just wanted everybody to know although it is easier to say mars side than futuristic desolate Venus side lol

7 RepliesThat's what you guys get! I try joining VoG Raids on Hard as a level 29 and people shun me away even though I clearly state that I have Maxed Raid Weapons and plenty of experience, but no, you'd rather go for the player that has the fancy armor and no Raiding Experience :)
