Wondering what other people think.
What if Eris Morn, the Hive obsessed, Ghostless guardian, didn't escape the Dark Below? What if she was really caught, held, and experimented on...and then left to wander back to humanity?
Perhaps the Hive are more sophisticated than we previously thought, and wanted her to return to us (the remaining guardians)? Why, you ask? Most obviously, she could be a spy; bent far beyond repair by the torture and indoctrination at the hands of the Hive. Or perhaps something else. That said, this is all very theoretical.
Has anyone heard this theory before? Does anyone care enough to elaborate, hypothesize and discuss this?
I like to think that there might be some undiscovered depth in Destiny, but what I see may just be undeveloped flashes of what could have been.
I do, however, think there are intriguing clues all over the place. In odd and unexpected places, even.

Edited by kalyuga: 12/22/2014 3:28:32 AMI say it again..everything with her reminds me on the starcraft dlc and starcraft 2...the picture with her looking down is almost the same and she slowly turns into a zerg..err hive.. I wouldn't wonder if she is the queen or a queen or not the old eris just the body..
What if... Eris didn't escape: they let her leave...
They made her leave because she snored to much. Crota couldn't get enough sleep
-
She's Crota's daughter
-
There is more story in these forums than in game
-
Could be. The only thing is, I don't give Hive that much credit in the intelligence department. But if so...that could change everything. What if we actually helped him in a sort of a way. M.Night Shymalan twist status right there
-
To be honest its the god damn ghost who we have to blame. He always messes up when trying to hack things, purposly if you ask me.. That little light is training us, choosing which and how many enemies to let through... What if the ghost revived us to train the enemy.. To show how strong they would need to be to beat us. ILLUMINI

I don't think the Hive would be too fond of Eris sending all of us guardians out there to destroy their ilk.
-
Nappa has five letters Crota has five letters
Crota is Nappa
-
No. She helped guide us to ultimately destroy Crota. I don't think the hive wanted that.
-
Don't think so.. But the hive are intelligent. They have space ships capable of teleporting...
-
You guys keep forgetting that destiny 1 - 4 has the same storyline. (Although i wish it is expanded better) i feel like we take down the lower tier enemies now(ie: crota son of orix) we take down crota now then it might progress into defeating oryx/darkness
-
Cool idea, but I think you're looking for a deep story where there unfortunately isn't one.
-
Edited by DeltaPhoenix66: 12/21/2014 5:58:07 PMThat's way too intriguing of a story for Destiny. I'd love it if that was true, but with this game the story is really as simple as it looks.
-
I bet that she's became Crota's Queen, and then pissed off that him and omingul got "too close" and now she's trying to get them both killed. And it worked. Now to just reclaim her throne.
-
I'm kinda wondering why they chose to end the hive with crota. He isn't even the strongest of then all. If you listen to what they say you would know that Crota is the son of oryx and all the hive pray to oryx not crota so he must be tons stronger. Related: that wouldn't be surprising if they let her go because I'm almost 100% sure Eris is blind until you give her the eyes of forsaken and I guess she used them.
-
The more important question is why didn't she just revive her teammates and take them back to orbit. What a b**ch... sheesh!
-
Nah she just went afk and then everyone died so she made up a vague story.
-
I doubt they let her go to tell me where crota is and then allow me to then proceed sodomize him with their own swords
-
Yes, let her come back to us, just so she can then send us go kill their God. Makes perfect sense.
-
It's a trap!
-
I hope that the hardmode of the CE raid starts when crota dies and Oryx gets revived by his soul and we have to escape the hellmouth. The connection to your thread ist that we thought that eris is controlled by oryx and want us to kill crota gor him. Would be very very cool
-
Anyone remember the thread claiming that the hive are just dead guardians changed by wizards..?
-
She does creepily demands of eye of the Forsaken. I wonder what she needs them for...
-
this theory is valid. yet some humanity remains in her as she wants the destruction of the Hive and Crota so she can be free, instead of carrying out her evil plot. she has the Hive eyes, is crying their blood, seems hell bent on making sure that everything Hive related is abolished... I don't know. the players have created a better story so far for Destiny.
-
She was able to escape because your guardian did some stuff on the moon and helped Rasputin, otherwise she would of remained trapped...
-
You mean after Crota has had his wicked way with her?... Probably...
