So since bungie decided that everyone should be a high lvl how will u shift through the dirt to find good experienced players ? Especially with new people coming in the next few weeks who will be 30+ in no time. last month I could see my friends list and see a bunch of 28/29s (some due to bad drops from VoG I understand) this month I see mostly 31s I'm sure most of U can relate.

Edited by kimjong-unbeso: 12/21/2014 1:11:20 PMYou look online at their kd and completions. You, for example, are a noob

You know, I ran the VOG about a week ago with a couple of my regulars whom have experience and two people without any raiding experience whatsoever. They both made multiple comments about how much they appreciated me taking the time to explain each aspect of the raid and simply bringing them along for the ride. Did it take longer to complete? Absolutely. Was it somewhat frustrating? At times, incredibly. However, by the end, each member of that raid group felt a little more confident than they were before and we were able to take down Atheon with no wipes. All of us were Raid newcomers at one point, so I don't really get the rationale behind someone saying "If they can't beat this enemy in this amount of time, I boot them." Or, "If they don't have the Gorgon card, they can't raid with me." Initially, I just did what I was told during my first VOG run until I became familiar with the process and mechanics of the raid. Now, after many completions, I'm confident enough to offer advice, lead a team, and even pick up the dreaded shield and take down Gatekeepers by myself. I'll be a rookie again when I run TDB, but with time and experience, I'll be the one looking to lead. I guess I was just more hopeful people would be more willing to lend a hand. The uber-dedicated Guardians on here run raids with their clans with undeniably good reason - they want people who know what they're doing and can be counted on. However, there are many of us whom feel more than okay assisting new and veteran Guardians alike. Happy hunting, Guardians.

Look if they got the trophy/achievement for completing the raid on hard. It's an indicator, not a sure thing. Still some idiots around...

Here is a list; If someone has a 300 Gjallarhorn, it means they got it pre expansion, and probably from the first week of Destiny. If it's 331 then they got it post expansion, so who knows. If they have a Grimoire Score of over 2600 then they've put in a lot of time. I'm pushing 2700 and I had to do countless PvE and PvP achievements for that. If they have Chatterwhite then they've completed the VoG. If they have the Vex Mythoclast then they've completed VoG on Hard. If they have Cryptographic or any of the new raids weapons, and/or the Emblem, then they've completed Crota's End. If they remember the old loot cave in Skywatch, then they've been around a fair while. Obviously none of these things indicated a decent player, but it's a good place to start. For the record, I know people who check each of the boxes above, but are still mediocre players who die to some really simple stuff. Keep an open mind. Just because they're new to Destiny, it doesn't mean they're new to shooters; and some gamers out there pick things up faster than others. Think back to how you were a week or two after launch, then consider that when helping new people out.

I've always assumed those with 2000+ Grimoire score is pretty decent.
-
grimoir is easy to get so thats a no go the easiest way is to check them out on bungie.net or look them up on destinypublicevents.com
-
Throw out some acronyms of weapons. see how many they know.
-
Grimoir score. That's the point of it. To see the experience of someone
-
When they have less than 100 ascendant shards and energy
-
Look at how they play?
-
Who cares?
-
A crappy Guardian might have a great player ... And a crappy player might have a great Guardian.
-
Weapons, play style, shader / emblem, whether or not they are prepared (synthesis or weapons)…), stuff
-
Take them down to Randells corner and let them get acquainted lol
-
Grimoire score. Judging by that question, I'm guessing that you have a low one.
-
With cheesing there is really no way to tell.
-
You tell by their ability to pull their own weight in a raid. If they can't hold their own after a while of you trying to help them, then it's time to move on.
-
I ask if they've beaten crota without the glitch as well as how they did it and what role they played.
-
Grimoire score
-
Ask them if they were present for the queen wrath simple as that :) or check their grim score or use ur app to check their time spend ingame
-
Ask them subtle questions which tie into their playstyle.
-
What type of situation they can survive

Edited by Shadow: 12/21/2014 9:14:23 PMThis is why normal raid should be matchmaking. Getting people the experience before hard is the reason for this. Id rather people to pug and learn rather then jumping in an experienced group without knowing what to expect at all.

First of all there is no such thing as none expircnced level 30 if youre level 30 you played the game quite a bit. If you wanna rule out the no lifes from the hardcore players to the casuasl look at their grimore card score.
