THORN BOUNTY a punishment to NON HALO players..
After logging more than 2000 hours I have finally realized I will NEVER get to play with the only weapon I have ever wanted....The THORN Hand Cannon.
Since I have NO experience in PVP I am punished by having absolutely NO WAY to get this item other than an event that has NOTHING to do with this game. I've held this bounty in my inventory, along with the INVECTIVE bounty, for 3 months.. (got both bounties early) but I could never get them to save my life.
So after one last failed attempt in the IRON BANNER to even log ANY POINTS on the bounty I'm still sitting at ZERO.
Never in my entire gaming experience have I been restricted from an Item based on my ability to know glitches and exploits in a Multiplayer setting.
What pisses me off is I actually liked this game with all its failures and short comings but now I have to let Principles take over.
I have been punished by Bunghole for being a Hard Core gamer. I played this game more than any other game I have ever owned. And for what. To be told that all my work on gear and bounties and Raids is worthless everytime a new DLC drops. No thanks. We got to draw the line somewhere.
Mine was the THORN...or actually the INABILITY to obtain.
Now i am forced to leave behind everything i have invested in this game because BUNGHOLE is mad that I'm not a HALO NUT HUGGER.
I wish i could say it was fun. But as i look back i also realize something else...
IT WASNT.
What a waste of 3 months of my life.

***EDIT #3...To all those saying DONT do IB do it in Crucible. ...That would make it 100x harder because there's NO LEVEL Advantage. I would never last 2 minutes in that shhit. ***

Bro you -blam!-ing suck at this game if you can't get 500 points. I did it in 2 hours. All u need is a void shotgun and go run around shooting everything that moves.

Your title isn't entirely true. I suck hard at Halo Multiplayer, I play other FPS games like Battlefield and others similar to it. It took me four hours spread over two days to get Thorn. What the real problem could be is your state of mind when you play or your in game strategies. Maybe you keep playing in lobbies with players who have more skill or you could be unfortunate when it comes to this particular weapon. Whatever the case if you really want Thorn then keep trying. Of course you'll need to earn the bounty again, but just go in there with a positive attitude and some good teammates. You'll get it just keep trying.

I share the sentiments I too suck at PvP and havre abandoned the Thorn bounty multiple times. Yeah its hard to get but so are all the other exotics. Its just one exotic that is tied to PvP so be it... They could have gone and added such a stage in each exotic weapon then yeah it would have been a point to rant about but its just one weapon. If you can't get it just forget it. You don't need to have each weapon. People who don't play PvE much are a bit jealous of the guns dropped in PvE like the raids they don't post on this subject. I have accepted this and so should everyone else. If you can't get it...forget it.

Dude....I hate to say it but IB is where the most competitive of PVP'ers go to. Very bad choice to start. In all honesty you should have either went with Rumble. Not everyone is focusing on you and it is quite easy to rack the points needed (my friend isn't good in PVP and even he completed both of these in rumble). Having a level advantage only means so much if you are several levels higher than your opponents and pretty much the most skilled and ambitious are going to IB to get their gear. To be honest I don't why you want invective unless you were planning on playing PVP more, that is the only thing it was useful for and as for Thorn...well this all amounts to a personal decision and sadly it was poor one. There are also people who would have helped you form groups in rumble just to get this done...at this point you have no one to blame but yourself. I am not trying to be mean or insensitive, but that is what most of this game is all about is getting better in particular areas to get better gear. When you first played the Vault of Glass did you have a perfect strategy for it? No? Because, that, just like pvp, requires time and patience to get better at it.

I dont play Halo and still I have managed to get my Thorn yesterday with a sniper from dead orbit, a machine gun from vanguard and a rare fusion rifle. I hate PVP in consoles because I'm a Counter-Strike player since 2003 and obviously I prefer to use keyboard and mouse in this game mode. Also, PS4 is my first console since Dreamcast in 2001. You must adapt your game style to the maps you're playing. If you can't do this, you will never get this bounty. And I feel sorry for you because Thorn is amazing.

Ok so I tried doing crucible with atheons and honestly it sucks. Just run with a good fusion or shotgun and a rocket launcher. It takes a while if you're not used to PVP but it's doable. Just be cautious. Do control on crucible. Esp now since all the better players are doing iron banner. If that still doesn't work... Find 5 people willing to help you and do rumble till your eyes bleed. Have them die to your weapons and not kill you. Prolly the easiest way to complete this bounty. I did it with a brand new suros not upgraded at all, a fusion rifle, and a rocket launcher. On my void walker.

Feel for you actually, i love Halo MP and always do alright. I suck at Destiny PVP, like you had the bounties for months, i should delete them i guess but i keep thinking i may get lucky one day even though i know deep down thats not going to happen. They really should gave alternate ways to earn these things.

[spoiler]I already have a thorn I'll just keep doing the bounty over and over to collect the tears of scrubs[/spoiler]

The cry posts are always the longest.... In the time you took to write this post you could of played crucible and grinded out a few points towards the Thorn bounty... Goodbye LOSER!!

Shut up you scrub. I don't ever play crucible unless I'm VERY VERY bored or if an exotic bounty calls for it. With that said im shit at crucible. But I had no problems getting the thorn bounty done. Took me 45 mins to do the void points part. Quit crying

Lol. Being a Voidwalker is the easiest way to get the 500 points and you still can't do it? I knocked it over in around 9 or 10 games. Used a rare void fusion rifle and just played Control. Used axiom bolt and Nova Bomb and it wasn't that difficult. I actually have two Thorns. Say what!! Lol

PvP is part of the game, and therefore certain items will require PvP to obtain. Just like if you want raid weapons and gear, the only way to get them is by doing the raid. There are plenty of other equally good or better weapons that don't require PvP, so you complaints sound an awful lot like pointless whining. By the way, I did it as a Hunter and my only void weapon was a void fusion rifle; so that was literally my only way of getting void kills. I've done it three times now. Just play Control and camp a way back from the zones blasting everyone who comes near.

How does the bounty and pvping have anything to do with playing halo before? Either you're good at FPSs or you're not. Clearly you suck hard if you can't do it on a VW warlock.

I had 0 problems getting it in regular crucible with my void walker class and AE, calming, and CM. Did it In about 2 hrs and I have never played halo
