THORN BOUNTY a punishment to NON HALO players..
After logging more than 2000 hours I have finally realized I will NEVER get to play with the only weapon I have ever wanted....The THORN Hand Cannon.
Since I have NO experience in PVP I am punished by having absolutely NO WAY to get this item other than an event that has NOTHING to do with this game. I've held this bounty in my inventory, along with the INVECTIVE bounty, for 3 months.. (got both bounties early) but I could never get them to save my life.
So after one last failed attempt in the IRON BANNER to even log ANY POINTS on the bounty I'm still sitting at ZERO.
Never in my entire gaming experience have I been restricted from an Item based on my ability to know glitches and exploits in a Multiplayer setting.
What pisses me off is I actually liked this game with all its failures and short comings but now I have to let Principles take over.
I have been punished by Bunghole for being a Hard Core gamer. I played this game more than any other game I have ever owned. And for what. To be told that all my work on gear and bounties and Raids is worthless everytime a new DLC drops. No thanks. We got to draw the line somewhere.
Mine was the THORN...or actually the INABILITY to obtain.
Now i am forced to leave behind everything i have invested in this game because BUNGHOLE is mad that I'm not a HALO NUT HUGGER.
I wish i could say it was fun. But as i look back i also realize something else...
IT WASNT.
What a waste of 3 months of my life.

***EDIT #3...To all those saying DONT do IB do it in Crucible. ...That would make it 100x harder because there's NO LEVEL Advantage. I would never last 2 minutes in that shhit. ***

I hate PvP too, but one day I just said screw it I'm getting the thorn. Three void weapons and just camped like a mofo for a few hours. Soon as I finished the bounty part I left for orbit, never to PvP since!

What punishment to non halo players? I play on the old ps3 but i did my thorn bounty in one and a half hours and the invective bounty in 1 match... Although i hate crucible i find it easy to do since i played alot of battlefield and COD (left COD because of the lack of new content and all the screaming 4 year olds, i think i got even a little deaf of it). Even without the experience with these games i still think these bounties are doable. Just camp the whole game with a fusion rifle. Yes you wont get much kills and you dont help your team out but it works.

what does thorn/invective bounty have anything to do with halo?.... hardcore gamer? and you can't play a FPS? lol... all I am getting from this post is... you suck, you're a casual and you have no life at all. the only advice I am going to give you is. get out get a job.

If you are on Xbox one ill do it for you. If you trust me to do it, is do it. It's not hard for me.

Took a day for me. And I suuuuuuck at crucible, just stick with it man the reward is worth it.

I was able to complete it in roughly 4hrs start to finish yesterday I never play crucible so I was worried but I did the Iron Banner. My load out was the epilogue, revenge, truth. And void warlock. 90% of the time I used the sniper and it went well

Doing regular crucible during Iron Banner is easier because most of the good pvp players are in that dick measuring contest that is Iron Banner. Lol

Give any fusion rifle with void damage and accelerated coils a try. I did it with a rare one.

My K/D is .86 and I got it. Just took a while, playing careful and camping here and there when I could. Normally I just run and gun and don't care about K/D at all. Thought I would never get it.

I only needed 11 Matches to complete this Part. And i have had only a void sniper rifle and void launcher. It is not very difficult. During the ib. The normal crucible is very easy. Only killing the witch is Hard for doing it Solo. Of you have 2 Friends. Than it is easy too.

1 ReplyIm terrible at crucible and i managed to aquire Thorn. Takes patience and dedication. And then my abilities in crucible have improved. Its tough no doubt. If you must do rumble with 2 friends willing to let you kill them. Ive seen it done this way.

With all that maxed void gear it should have been a cake walk for you. Grow some next time. I completed that bounty as a lvl 24 with a 2/4 lvled up sub class and a rare fusion rifle. And im god awful at crucible. Its not that hard to get a few kills and NOT die. Dont be so butt hurt to the fact your horrible at multiplayer.

3 RepliesAlso interesting to notice how you say you had 2000 hrs in this game...and then just so happen to delete you characters (meaning your proof is gone). I highly doubt you had over 500 hrs in this game with that attitude.

I actually just completed the PVP portion of the quest line. In all honesty, it was not hard. Just time consuming. I'm not a skilled player by any means, and I completed it in probably 6 hours of game time. And guess what, it was kinda fun. This was only with a void secondary and heavy on a hunter. Now I can't solo Xylor, tried for a few hours. Damn near impossible for me to solo. If anyone has time to help a guy out on the ps4 Id greatly appreciate it. Give it another shot and try not to be such a doucher. Go Packers
