THORN BOUNTY a punishment to NON HALO players..
After logging more than 2000 hours I have finally realized I will NEVER get to play with the only weapon I have ever wanted....The THORN Hand Cannon.
Since I have NO experience in PVP I am punished by having absolutely NO WAY to get this item other than an event that has NOTHING to do with this game. I've held this bounty in my inventory, along with the INVECTIVE bounty, for 3 months.. (got both bounties early) but I could never get them to save my life.
So after one last failed attempt in the IRON BANNER to even log ANY POINTS on the bounty I'm still sitting at ZERO.
Never in my entire gaming experience have I been restricted from an Item based on my ability to know glitches and exploits in a Multiplayer setting.
What pisses me off is I actually liked this game with all its failures and short comings but now I have to let Principles take over.
I have been punished by Bunghole for being a Hard Core gamer. I played this game more than any other game I have ever owned. And for what. To be told that all my work on gear and bounties and Raids is worthless everytime a new DLC drops. No thanks. We got to draw the line somewhere.
Mine was the THORN...or actually the INABILITY to obtain.
Now i am forced to leave behind everything i have invested in this game because BUNGHOLE is mad that I'm not a HALO NUT HUGGER.
I wish i could say it was fun. But as i look back i also realize something else...
IT WASNT.
What a waste of 3 months of my life.

**RE-EDIT #2.....I have ALL VOID WEAPONS fully MAXED. ..Atheon Epilogue, Light Beware Fusion, Comedian Shotgun, Corrective Measure, Truth AND I have VOID WALKER fully Maxed. ***
***EDIT #3...To all those saying DONT do IB do it in Crucible. ...That would make it 100x harder because there's NO LEVEL Advantage. I would never last 2 minutes in that shhit. ***

You should have been able to do it if you logged that much time. I'm not very good at crucible either, but it only takes a few lucky matches to get that part of the bounty. I won't rag on you too much though because I deleted my Thorn bounty when I couldn't solo the strike at the end. Exotic bounties are probably as hard as they are supposed to be, but the difficulty seems disproportionate compared to getting exotics other ways.

Why cant you just go positive with void weapons? I picked up another thorn bounty just to not waste a shard dude. Im not saying im amazing, just camp or something it takes some people a long time. But theres always someone worse than you

I think you've overreacted a little here mate. I'm terrible at PvP and with Atheon's Epilogue, a void fusion & a void heavy machine gun, this was just a couple of nights grinding Control. Admittedly, it wasn't much fun (I'm not a fan of PvP), but Thorn was worth it. Beautiful weapon.

I'm pretty average at PvP & been doing this for about 2hrs now with a hunter using a fusion rifle & The Swarm. At 314 of 500 so another couple of hours & it should be done. It's not that difficult tbh, just takes a while especially without a void subclass.....I also feel kinda dirty spamming a fusion rifle but a guardians gotta do what a guardians gotta do. It will be dismantled as soon as the bounties done.

1 Replydude what class are you? if you are a titan or warlock equip a void fusion (even a rare one) or a void shotgun. and kill people with grenade (if you have voidfang you spawn with grenade each time) so melee + grenade and try to get 1 kill per life. you will finish it in 2hours.

Whoa whoa whoa sir speak for yourself. I'm a non halo player who had no PvP experience with first person shooters on launch day. Even so, I breezed through the thorn bounty with just a rare void shotgun. You sir are just bad.

I've never owned an Xbox in my life. Hence, I've never played Halo. I'm also not very good at pvp in general. That said, I've completed all the exotic with minimal effort.

Yeaterday was the last time I ever do the Thorn bounty... I've got the upgraded thorn from it and that's all I wanted.

Wow, those are the only two bounties I've gotten. They were both hard and frustrating, but I muddled through. I'm definitely not what you would call a "power gamer" or "good at this game" but I persevered. I don't even do IB, bounties aside because I know I wouldn't be able to complete hardly any of the regular IB bounties. I don't know about Halo, never played it.

Lol this is the funniest post I have ever seen. I never thought someone could be that bad at PvP. If you could aim in the pve world what's so hard about aiming in the PvP world.

I sat back with a fusion rifle on rumble and finished it in 3 hours. It really isn't that terrible as long as u get a kill for every 2 deaths
