THORN BOUNTY a punishment to NON HALO players..
After logging more than 2000 hours I have finally realized I will NEVER get to play with the only weapon I have ever wanted....The THORN Hand Cannon.
Since I have NO experience in PVP I am punished by having absolutely NO WAY to get this item other than an event that has NOTHING to do with this game. I've held this bounty in my inventory, along with the INVECTIVE bounty, for 3 months.. (got both bounties early) but I could never get them to save my life.
So after one last failed attempt in the IRON BANNER to even log ANY POINTS on the bounty I'm still sitting at ZERO.
Never in my entire gaming experience have I been restricted from an Item based on my ability to know glitches and exploits in a Multiplayer setting.
What pisses me off is I actually liked this game with all its failures and short comings but now I have to let Principles take over.
I have been punished by Bunghole for being a Hard Core gamer. I played this game more than any other game I have ever owned. And for what. To be told that all my work on gear and bounties and Raids is worthless everytime a new DLC drops. No thanks. We got to draw the line somewhere.
Mine was the THORN...or actually the INABILITY to obtain.
Now i am forced to leave behind everything i have invested in this game because BUNGHOLE is mad that I'm not a HALO NUT HUGGER.
I wish i could say it was fun. But as i look back i also realize something else...
IT WASNT.
What a waste of 3 months of my life.

***EDIT #3...To all those saying DONT do IB do it in Crucible. ...That would make it 100x harder because there's NO LEVEL Advantage. I would never last 2 minutes in that shhit. ***

5 RepliesYou people seriously believe this clown has this much play time? Destinytracker.com There is only 1 person with this much playtime. But that guy is in the top 12% of the crucible, proving it not to be this turd. Second place has half the time. Also I'm betting first place is either multiple guys playing on the same account, or someone that works for bungie that play time reflects before launch. Think about it. For 2000 hours of play time, you would have to play 19 hours EVERYDAY since launch. Basically impossible.

I had the exact same problem-both the Thorn and the Invective for months before I finally gave up. And don't give me any of that "Play more, get better bro," crap. I play Crucible when I have to and I give it everything; it's just not one of my skills. Besides, I'd rather be running patrol missions than having some immature testosterone freak tea bagging my corpse.

Never played halo and completed thorn and infective in no time. It's easy as -blam!- I don't understand why everyone bitches about how "hard" it is. The only way to get better at something is to do that thing and for some reason most people don't know that

1 Reply51 days? The game has only been out just over 3 months. That's insane! You average like 12 hours a day! Maybe the game is doing you a favor by pissing you off, go outside son. That is honestly just embarassing.

You sound like you wanted thorn. regular cruciable would have been infinantly easier. you could have corner camped with the comedian and finished it in one game.

Never played Halo before and I'm alright at Crucible. It didn't take me long to complete the thorn bounty.

I barely played Halo.. less than 10x total with friends and I was terrible at FPS. Why do you need to know glitches for multiplayer? You shoot the enemies just like you do in PVE.. 51 days played and you still can't kill enemies unless they are in a pre-set pattern of movement?

1 ReplyIf you really wanted Thorn you would learn PvP. The fact is that half the game is based around PvP and without it you miss half of Destiny. I'm not all that great at it either but I'm a little OCD so I figured it out. My first PvP online experience was Titanfall, and coming to Destiny was a humbling experience as most of these players are quite experienced at Halo style PvP. It hurts getting killed when you think you're good, but get over the pride and figure it out. Learn how the radar works, learn the maps, learn the classes, learn the weapons, learn the sniping nests, learn the major routes. What are your strengths? Remember how you died last? Try that on someone. You have void up the ying yang, I'm Hunter with no void abilities and I did it, but I deleted the bounty three times before I did. Atheon's Epilogue is the key. There are a lot of tips online. Don't give up Guardian!

I did it in around 5-6 control games. Why does everybody have trouble with this?? Edit: the app glitched again and we can't view your profile. As far as I know there's nothing you can do to fix it, so.

If you get one kill (+5 points) and a death (-3 points) that's still up +2. If you get one kill (+5 points and 2 deaths (-6 points) that's -1 point total. If you get two kills, (+10 points) and died once (-2 points). That's +8. Statistically that makes it very possible to complete the challenge. You are being irrational if you think it cannot be done. First time I did it, I completely used a blue fusion rifle only. Spawn in, go try and kill people with fusion rifle, rinse and repeat. It can be done easily.

Ya...your whole IB excuse for level advantage is pretty ridiculous. The crucible is easier regardless. In IB its all try hards...

Okay heres something that you should probably take into consideration while playing IB its for the hardcore PvP community plain and simple so if you suck at it normally DONT PLAY IB play crucible during that time so you have a better chance of getting the bounty people who dont want to play IB which is usually you PvE guys play the normal for the marks which makes it easier on you over all my friend well until IB ends that is.... or go in there with a team its the same concept of a raid dude good team work makes a world of difference you can tell when you play against a team because they feel like there everywhere getting shot from all sides map control is another big tging about PvP control the map oh and dont die :-)

I can kill someone in pvp only with tlw or hard light. Somehow i finished the bad juju bounty but thorn is impossible for me :(
