Gift from bungie: Free Exotic?
I was thinking, since DeeJ stated that there would be some "stocking stuffers" when the holidays are over, will Bungie be offering a free exotic weapon to all its players?
Now, I have thought it out, so don't rule out this possibility just yet.
I can up with the idea of Bungie offering ONE exotic weapon engram. You can get one, and only one. That means that only one of your characters will be able to acquire it.
As to what kind of weapon it will be, that will be all RNG as usual. There will be one kind of exotic weapon engram, they won't be divided into primary, special or heavy. You get what you get.
The engram will be available at your postmaster on, before or after Christmas and will not disappear, unlike xur who is only available in the tower for 48 hours. You can hold onto it for as long you want, which means players can use it when it gets delivered, or save it for another time.
This would be a perfect thing for Bungie to do, in my opinion of course. If they really want to say thank you, this is the way to do it.

EDIT 3: To all who are seeing this post, I will ask a question. Does Bungie take the feedback that It receives seriously, or do they just not care anymore? I've been wanting to ask people this question a numerous number of times, and I think now is the appropriate time to ask it.

You can walk up to it and hold the interact button. It will have two spaces. A name tag and an item. You are able to gift one item to a friend, and they will receive it from their special orders quartermaster on Christmas Day. I think this would finally give people something to do with their second exotics and legendaries they don't need. I personally love this idea. Edit: anybody to friend.

Look at all the rap they made us do to get a pair of level 33 gloves from Eris, doubt they just hand out exotics for nothing. I'd love it if they did I just don't see it happening. It'll probably be something similar to the dlc package we got. Some blue engrams. Mote of light and some glimmer. Just another kick square in our asses

I would only wish for this to happen becuase its probably not going to happen, its probably going to be a few purple engrams at the most and a few blues at the least. I totally agree with you and I totally hope for it, but lets be honest, bungie has -blamed- us over and over again but that doesnt mean we wont play the game or not play the game, like I still like the game only for the heroic missions and crucible but other wise not happy with the game.

Great idea, but unlikely. Bungie doesn't seem to care anymore. I think it'd be even better if they said pick one exotic of our choice, since I'm sick of the over abundance of RNG in this game.

Considering they gave us blue engrams with the dlc "thank you" package, they'll probably give us greens for Christmas.

If its anything like the dark below present we got, it will be 2 blue engrams and 1 ascendant energy and shard. WEEEEEEEE!!! how fun!!!! My hopes aren't high

This is cute. You think bungie would actually give us something useful for free? Look at what we have received so far, a free sparrow, IF you bought the DLC. They have not given anything else free except those jackolytes. Bungie will give is a free ship or red and green shader or something else equally stupid. The are not going to give you anything of note. When was the last time bungie did something that made the community say "wow bungie must have really thought this one out!" Don't be naive and this just because it's Christmas that bungie is going to give you something good.

Dont bet on it. They give us two purple engrams..... Which will both turn in motes of light.... People will so pissed that even the noobs will quit.... Deej will post on here how amazing his holiday was and how he got two exotics from his purple engrams..... And people will just ripe him a new one with all kinds of clever smack talk..... And when this does happen, i will come online, grab those purple engrams and scrap and go on getting -blam!-ed by RNG. Welcome to the world of activision logic

I doubt Bungie will give its players an exotic engram or even a legendary engram for the holidays, simply because they are greedy, selfish, assholes that do not care what the players want. They don't care about player feedback because for the first 3 months everyone told them the truth about how bad their game is, plus all the bad reviews they've gotten from different reviewers. So they stopped listening or caring what player feedback they get.

You're all being too optimistic. It'll be a [u]small[/u] assortment of Blues and Purples, Coins and Motes. With the Engrams being subject to normal Cryptard decryption rates. How have you people not learned to not get your hopes up with this game?
