Bungie is busy figuring some arbitrary metric to make the game look successful, like the billions of Hive killed by players or the millions of hours played on day 1 of "The Dark Below".

From Bungie's end of the year update: [quote]12,869,066 players have picked up a controller and taken Destiny for a spin. They have sparked 22,932,276 Guardians to life. Together, they have spent 872,404,449 hours battling the aliens that want to turn them into dust. Lol I've been playing the game since day 1, found a SINGLE purple engram EVER. It was a class item.

That sucks, i have pretty bad luck to for the most part. Yeah purple engrams are very rare and that proves my point. Don't expect to get stuff from killing enemies. >.<

I'm a casual player that started late(pre-dlc still) and I've had a legendary engram drop from a red life bar enemy on each planet just on patrol, not counting 2 during strikes, 1 from the spirit bloom chest in the VoG, etc.. That's how messed up this loot system is, and I don't farm loot caves, it is boring as hell. I cant stand it. Makes me feel bad for guys like you, if only there were a way to sell or trade you our extras.
