That's one of the most biased reviews I've ever read. Truth is activision regulates dlc as they technically own this game, to a point. Now look at cod "expAnsions" 3/maybe 4 maps and a gun (IF YOURE LUCKY) they've been dropping those bare ass shit dlcs for years so ign up and wants to attack destiny?
Tbh I think the whole world is just finally realizing dlc is a bullshit mechanic to make a 60 game worth 100-120-140$ game. And no one likes that, no one. But they are finally growing balls so they attack destiny. One if the hottest games out right now.
Now keep in mind that they at ign are RETARDED. Because eris morn is vital to experience certain things such as the "the nechrochasm" but yes the dlc is bare, very bare. But you can't name a single 20$ dlc for call of duty that was bigger, because there never was. Activision is too used to milking the -blam!-ing shit out of games.
A raid
About 6-7 new exotics
4-5 new missions due to the "urn of sacrifice"
About 20 new guns (crucible and vangaurd)
A new strike
New tower vendor
Now lmfao let's look at the countless cod "expansions -blam!-ers have been dropping pretty pennies on silently and obliviously for years.
3 MAYBE 4 maps. (Zombies and extinction included)
And if you're REALLLLY -blam!-ING LUCKY a gun.
So let's be realistic. Destiny does better, but NO FPS DOES ENOUGH.

Either way both are overpriced. Plus destiny called their deal an expansion which usually includes new areas, a new story, multiple characters, etc. borderlands and skyrim are excellent examples of what expansions are.

The ignorance of this post is pretty gross. Cod doesn't need story. Destiny does. Therefore we expect different things from the dlc. Only a dumbass would lump together such different games.

Destiny and Call of Duty are totally different types of games, let's be real.

The Call of Duty DLCs are map packs mostly. Destiny players are looking for expansions comparable to those of WoW. There may be a whole list of "new" stuff in the DLC but in reality its the same stuff with more health. They offered nothing fresh, nothing that people have been searching Destiny so deeply for. Just more grinding and load screens. In addition, nothing new was explained in the story. Same bland story that does not make me feel that I need to defend the world from the darkness.

Also new events out in the world. Blades of Crota invasions for example. These add some spice to the game, in an area where there was only ever 1 enemy type, you might have a random skirmish break out. I have seen it happen and it adds a certain element of life to the game. I kinda wish they made the other areas where factions fight a little more random. For example, the one on mars where the vex are fighting cabal at the big fortress, Maybe cycle the vex spawn on for a 2 hour period and then shut it down for 30 minutes. Moving through the area and realizing there are no vex would just add a sense of realism to the game and make the experience all that more wonderful. They have the enemy moves against event, and maybe once that event is over, ONE side retreats completely for like 30 minutes? And you could have guardians help decide the battle. Have X number of adds killed signal the other side to retreat. Just something fun to do aside from just slaughtering everything in sight.

Both expansions shoulda been included with release. There would have been far less complaints about the lack of content. Imagine 7-10 strikes and 3 raids at launch. That would have been a game that got 9/10 reviews instead of 6.5's.

Add story in there and you would be right on track. Destiny is the kind of game that needs a story.

Well I mean TITANFALL DLC included no new guns but we got 9 new maps for $20 and some random little things but it was a bare DLC but we got quality out of it comparatively... Not arguing your point just saying destiny could of done better

Actually it's usually FPS that have weak DLC I can think of plenty of games that have real meaningful DLC but none the are FPS.

Borderlands 1 and 2 both added meaningful dlc and are very similar to destiny in some aspects. Borderlands dlc added entirely new areas with unique weapons, characters, story and style.

Yes I totally agree with what your saying about how much DLC wise compared to other shooters. However the main problem with that IMO is that Destiny is supposed to be more then a just a shooter it is also supposed to be an RPG and an MMO or shared world as Bungie puts it. We should IMO be getting as much DLC as RPG like Skyrim.

This is true. A game that claims multiple descriptive titles as an mmo, fps, and rpg all In one needs to take on that challenge. Of it were a brand new company doing this and this is what we had gotten nobody would ever respect them as a company. I think bungie deserves some slack after their civil war but they need to step up or die as a company. This is going to be their proving grounds and so far they're not stepping up. This could solidify bungie into the company reputation they had before or maybe greater or it could collapse them because the consumers stop having that faith in them. Most people do feel let down and although tons have left the game and the company most of us I'd say are holding out in hopes they make it.
