No Land Beyond 2.0 Revamp?

[spoiler]Let's be honest, the concept and idea of this weapon is extremely pleasing. As a Guardian owning this weapon since day 1 of The Dark Below, I desperately want to use it. Although you might as well trade it out for a slingshot. Extremely low rate of fire and low ammo for it being a primary weapon. The iron sights are a bit clunky and the damage output isn't even worth it if you were to never miss a precision shot. Please if you agree with this and wish to see a bright future for No Land Beyond, bump this and make it noticeable to Bungie/DeeJ that this is a concern for the community, and that we would like to use this weapon one day! Please "Sign" this l Petition and... BUFF NO LAND BEYOND EDIT 1: Lots of positive feed back over this topic! Thank you all who have been supportive. No Land Beyond will surely gain a buff of some sort in the future. But how far into the future can be decided by our power through these forums. Continue the support and a Land Beyond will soon be found! EDIT 2: Several Guardians out there who agree that it needs some kind of buff. Main points argued: Scope Flare - why the F*** is it there. Ammo- pew pew... Welp... That's all I got. Bolt Action Speed- I could do it faster! More Damage- slingshots hit harder! Some people like it the way it is, but many of them think that way because they believe it's just a cosmetic weapon. I don't agree with this because the game isn't made around "cosmetic" weapons. 1000+ posts, keep it up you bolt action junkies![/spoiler] EDIT 3: No Land Beyond was short lived and only used by a few Crucible legends to its full extent. Many Guardians, myself included, jumped to the idea of a Iron sighted bolt action sniper. The concept behind this is unique and gave a different charm in comparison to other weapons through destiny. Because of this I'd love to see "a weapon of this type" brought back to life in Destiny. No Land Beyond obviously was directed for PVP. Now Bungie, give us the PVE version of this idea. That way it can be utilized by the other side of this community!   • The rate of fire i can deal with. The perks are fine because it is awesome with NONE at all. However. Additional ammo capacity is needed. ESPECIALLY. for pve. the other thing is that the iron sight of the gun needs to be given a red glow. Often i find myself having a difficult time seeing the guns sights against many of the backdrops of the game. Not to mention in dim or dark areas.

    Make precision kills return a bullet directly to the magazine. That'll fix it. What I mean is, precision kills allow another bullet to be fired immediately.

  • Let me start with this; my favorite crucible weapon is hands down No Land Beyond. For the Trials of Osiris day 1 I entered the arena with it and almost every match landed a 2.5 or higher kd. I know this weapon almost as well as the back of my hand. I agree with most of the points everyone has had that I've read. First and foremost the one I disagree most with; the sniper glare. As much as the weapon obviously has iron sights and therefore technically shouldn't glare, I believe if it were to be removed it would break the weapon. The only thing that occasionally saves people from my NLB is the split second of warning they get from the glare. To take that away would be unfair. You should always have a (however small or brief) warning that you have someone aiming at you with a 1 shot kill weapon. One of the items I find to be very touchy is "the master" perk. There are arguments that after a headshot, every body shot with it should be a kill. I can see where this could make sense, but this could still break the weapon. Therefore I think it should be a compromise. Rather than being 145 damage after a kill or a consistent 1-shot after a kill, make it do as much as a tripmine. With a base damage of 197, it gives the enemy a chance to be rewarded for thinking ahead and improving their armor stats, as well as rewarding teamwork on your team's side; any damage at all from a teammate causes a kill. It also would effectively reward someone in iron banner or trials of osiris for being a level above their foe, or ascending their nlb. These are the reasons I think that a follow-up body shot should do a base of 197 damage. I understand some people are going to disagree, and I totally get that.   • Fixes in my opinion No sniper glare, wtf is that? Haha More reserve ammo, like actually primary ammo Either faster bolt action or a way to speed it up, maybe like the main perk being multiplied crit damage and fast bolt action on crit hit? And one change I think will never happen but I think would do wonders for both the gun and the lore would be changing the iron sights. When I heard of the gun I was thinking "sweet, -a bolt action futuristic gun". Nope. I think the change that would be awesome is make the iron sights futuristic and the bottom of the gun old school. Like someone found an old bolt action and modified it to make it useful. My idea is like hand cannon sights or something similar.

  • I would argue to take off the bolt action completely simply because there is no way to buff the re chamber speed so that the gun is useable, without it looking really weird. Also the re chamber completely throws off your aim, for a follow up shot, which is already really hard to pull off without dying.

  • I agree completely. I love no land beyond it gives you a badass feeling with a old school bolt action sniper. Things that need to be changed Snipe glare. Why does an iron sight have glare? If it had no glare and a little bit faster bolt speed it would be beast. Pve or PvP pair this gun with a high impact shotgun like found verdict and you will have a blast. But you feel handicapped using it especially in PvP cause you have to work for every kill.

  • All good points just one addition reduce the size of the iron sights they interfere more than they help; they are interesting but so useless and obstructive. I wander if there is a bullet drop with distance? Bolt action in a sniper is a good idea to force you to aim, but only if it can justify that with damage and impact. In general make exotics worth the name "exotic" and not be less effective than a legendary or even a rare.
