Guardians, the pain is real! It truly seems unbearable to see all of the people running around with the Husk of the Pit, raving about it on the forums, and generally showing off. The only tip people are getting? "Do the Fist of Crota dude. Just grind it out." THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO GO ABOUT THIS DROP! Grinding will simply take away from fun, valuable play time. I KNOW! I grinded for this gun two days straight with no luck, and wish I could get that time back. If you ask around, the number one answer I see from HotP wielding guardians is that they got the gun without really trying. I've only found 3-5 people claiming to get the gun by grinding for it. (Some people go grinding for it, only to receive it after taking a break from the grind. This doesn't count as grinding for it!) While there's no way to prove/know that grinding won't give you HotP, we can look at the trend. Most people are getting it by being relaxed about it! Maybe doing other activities has an effect? Who knows. But what works, works. So here's a new strategy! STOP GRINDING. Instead, just put yourself into the presence of a Blade of Crota on a regular basis. Earth/Moon patrol bounty available in the tower? Accept it! Run around for a bit and don't focus on the Blades. However, if you ever see that wonderful "minions of Crota" message pop up, drop whatever it is you're doing and take that sucker down! You'll end up fighting more of them than you'd think! Additionally, that Fist of Crota mission is still helpful. Instead of grinding it, just go into it every other time you return to orbit. It only takes 1-2 minutes to take down the one dude, so fit it in as a between-mission habit. And last but not least; be creative with Eris' bounty for taking down 3 Blades. I like to do one on Earth, one on the Moon, and the one in Fist of Crota. Takes more time? Yeah, probably. But it's fun! Eventually, you'll see the beauty pop up on your screen. So what if you don't get HotP within the FIRST WEEK OF IT BEING AVAILABLE! Seriously, Necrochasm isn't even possible to get until the Hard mode for Crota's End is out! So stop stressing!
