I've been getting lots and lots of Baboon error codes

For the past few days maybe 90% of the time I get an error code, it is Baboon. I get it when I'm alone, when I'm in the Crucible, during cutscenes, in loading screens, even when I'm first signing in on rare occasions. My NAT is almost never open, most of the time it is Moderate, but I have never been getting this many Baboon error codes before. Help please. Edit: 1. Turning off the modem at night seems to have helped a little.

  • READ!!!! THIS WILL SOLVE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS!!!!! Hey guys, hows it going. I realize what your problem is, and if anyone hasn't told you already, the problem is your connection. I've been researching this for over a month now, and I've figured out the problem (yeah, call me a no-life). (Skip to the %%%%% to get info on how to fix) While Destiny has an excessive amount of error codes, Baboon can only be blamed on you (no offense). FYI, I'm saying this from personal experience, so I know how angry your are. And this is the problem: The Baboon error code is primarily associated with poor connection. In fact, when it sends out the Baboon error code, the game actually thinks that you're running your Xbox on a cell phone connection (yeah. That bad...) This is because of your internet connection set up. I know because I used to have a Modem with a router, but not anymore. %%%% So long conversation short, the problem is that Destiny is based off of data movement from the servers to your xbox. All of your items and player data (kill count, rank, items, etc.) is transmitted from the servers to your xbox ON YOUR CONNECTION. That said, if a single megabyte is missed in the data transmission (whether its an engram, an ascendent shard, or even a weapon parts), then the game drops a bomb and flashes you a baboon error code. Yeah it sucks, but this is because of your connection itself. When the data is transmitted, your connection has firewalls/gateways (basically) that regulate the data. This description is rudimentary, but since you have a modem AND a router, your connection in a way is restricting the data TOO MUCH, to the point where megabytes sometimes can't get through, just like gateways (one being the modem, followed by the router). This leads to the missing items in the game (which cause the error code baboon). The only way to fix this is to switch your connection set up to cable. Modems run on your phoneline connection (the lines you see outside/the ones that run underground). The connection on these phonelines are awful. They are the exact reason why you are having so many issues. The best way to fix this is to SWITCH TO CABLE! This will not only provide a stronger connection, but it will eliminate the need for a modem and a router (thus allowing the data to transmit to your xbox) While some people have phonelines that are good, this is based on luck. I hate to break it to ya, but if you're running an Xbox one with Destiny on a phoneline modem/router connection, your Destiny game SHOULDN'T be working right now. I'm still trying to get more supporting evidence for all this, but with luck, I'll be able to contact Bungie and get them to send out a message about this. Spread the word if possible!
