Do u cry when the brand new computer you "just" bought is made it obsolete the next week? Probably, but the truth of the matter is, the old raid gear is still very helpful in the old raid, just like your old computer is still good at what it does, it just won't keep up with the latest software. The new gear is helpful in the new raid... So on and so forth. I really don't see anything wrong with "what they did", cause everyone does it, it's life, get used to it, cause it's gonna get harder as you get older.
