We knew about the DLC and were able to buy it months before the game came out so of course they would have had time to setup things to prepare for it ahead of time, any online based game like this has some kind of way to get recurring revenue, you gotta pay for the ongoing support and content somehow, would you rather a monthly subscription like other games?

  • This is a really good point that has been brought up a few times now---and I see no reason to disagree with valid arguments. Is the spacing out of content through 'DLC' this way in lieu of a monthly fee? That would seem like a pretty cool thing to do. Maybe Bungie just sucks at it because they're new to it. Either way... Why not just say that? I wouldn't be here, with anything to complain about, if they'd just said that it was to supplant subscription costs. That kinda makes sense to me. Nothing is free. Sounds legit. But their not saying that still leads me to believe that they're just trying to avoid saying something that is absolutely a lie, because that would be really bad on them. So being vague allows complete evasion of all accountability. If it turns out that this is the case, that'd be great. I'd be free of my sneaking suspicion that we're just being boned for a few bucks.
