They did it that way because they knew people would cheese the raid, c using 3 characters for one set of gear, that not the point of the game and completely unfair to players who use all 3 characters

Completely scrapping all of the existing game was not acceptable price to pay to make sure no one got to 32 using all three characters. Who in their right mind would drive away any loyal fanbase they did have just to make it harder for a few people to level quickly?
-
They didn't drive their base, millions still play every day, they just made it harder for people who choose to exploit the game

I'm seeing players hat practically worship the ground Bungie walks on quit playing this game, and it is because there really isn't any reason to play it since the release of DLC made every activity in the game obsolete except for one single raid that can only be done once a week. The few gaming press that didn't write Destiny off at release are even beginning to crucify these decisions. On top of all the collateral damage that doesn't make the changes worth it at all, having three characters of the same class isn't even an exploit, it's actually a logical consequence of the RNG system that awards redundant class-specific items.
-
Lol you call it a consequence but it is not an Exploit??? The DLC made the grind Harder, which makes people play more, which is the point. Using same 3 characters is an exploit when you have 2 other characters to use to diversify the game. I personally think bugie should have made people us other characters so that people could not cheese the raid, nightfall, gear etc.
The DLC made the grind Harder, which makes people play more, which is the point.
Oh, it is the grind you are after, not actually playing a fun game. You and I have opposing objectives.

The grind is what keeps the game relevant, without it it becomes a beat and trade in game. Bugie is making right choice

Again, I am going to have to cite irreconcilable differences in our thinking. Some amount of grinding may be good, but grinding one activity for months to get any progression is just plain stupid to me. The pacing is ridiculous, and there is a lot of content in the game that is actually enjoyable that should not be thrown away.
