The reason why many compare Destiny with WoW(MMO)

Ok there is a lot of discussion about Destiny and mostly people refer to MMO's like WoW. Many may not even know this game but the comparison is actually spot on. Here's a list with things they have in common: -Gear Rarity ( White, Green, Blue, Purple, Yellow/Orange) is the same in both games. -Getting gear through (Dungeons/Strikes, Raids and Random drops) Are both the same. You grind and hope for your item to drop. -Leveling up requires you to do missions/quests and kill an X amount of monsters. -Level up gives you a new skill or passive. -Every time you kill something there is a chance you get an item. -Both games have a maximum Character level to get to. Destiny=20 WoW=100. After this your gear defines your strength. -Destiny uses Light Level, adding it to your character level. WoW uses Item level, a stand alone number that is the average level of the gear you have. - WoW has Quests, Destiny has Bounties. - Wow and Destiny both have Factions to gain reputation with. - WoW has a Normal and Heroic mode. Destiny has Normal and Hard mode. But there's also a list of things they do differently. - PVP in wow you farm Tokens (Crucible Marks) to buy gear. In Destiny you do the same but there's also a chance to get an item at the end of a match. - PvP in wow is very much gear dependent. Without proper pvp gear you will get slaughtered. Pvp in destiny is scaled giving everyone an equal chance. (Excluding Iron Banner) - During a dungeon the boss you kill drops 1 or 2 items from a set of items guaranteed. Whether it's the item you want/need is rolling a dice. Destiny Strikes give you guaranteed engrams at the end of a Strike. Whether it's the item you want/need is rolling a dice. - Wow Dungeons are 5 men, Destiny strikes are 3. (These drop Blue rarity items.) - WoW raids are min. 10 - max 25, Destiny are 6. (These drop Purple rarity items.) - WoW charges $ 15 a month to play the game plus the game ($ 50), Destiny costs $ 60 and $ 35 for the season pass. - WoW has a gigantic story and lore, Destiny is still vague on this. - WoW uses 3rd person RPG controlls, Destiny is an FPS controlled game. - WoW is 10 years old, Destiny 3 Months. - WoW has in game chat, Destiny has Voice chat. - WoW has raid matchmaking for a lower difficulty raid, Destiny does not because it's easier to get 6 people together and the difficulty of the raid is a lot harder than WoW. - Wow releases an expansion every 1-2 years, Destiny releases DLC every 2 months? That's what I can think of right now. And this comes from a 10 year veteran WoW player that now plays Destiny. There are prolly a lot of other stuff they do the same or both do differently. But in the end Destiny is just like WoW. They're both Multiplayer Online RPG, one is just massive and the other's not. I also want to point out that if you buy and play WoW for the last 3 months. You've spent the same amount of money if you buy Destiny and the season pass. Only difference is, you can still play the next months without receiving a $ 15 bill every month.
