My main gripe is just that there are so many unexplained parts of the story. I understand Bungie wanting to dish it out in portions so we have something to look forward to as time passes but the miniscule morsels are ridiculous. At this rate, after 10 years, we'd be lucky to have a good understanding of 1/8 of what's going on in Destiny's universe.
If you're going to release an expansion based on the Hive, why did you not delve deeper into the hive's story? Who the hell is Oryx? Why did the Hive come to our galaxy? Why do they devour light? Who were Eris's team mates? What happened to Eris while she was hiding amongst the Hive and why? There are hundreds of unanswered questions. Likewise, House of Wolves should explain everything about the fallen and so on.
Why spread the stories within Destiny so thin when there are 1000 stories within the story to tell? That's was so frustrating about this DLC to me...

I'm convinced that Bungie doesn't know. They're making this shit up as they go.

Yeah. I also don't like the Grimoire system. It's an interesting addition, but only as an addition.

Right, the Grimoire should contain extra, optional fun-facts that if anyone wanted to be a trivia master in all things Destiny, would be a great place to browse through. It shouldn't be the primary way to find out what the hell the story is about. What's even worse is that in my hunger to understand what's happening in Destiny, I actually did go and read every single card in the Grimoire (before the DLC) and I still felt like there were gaping holes in the lore. Destiny simply does not explain itself, whether you use every resource it offers or not. The cutscenes actually do explain more about the story than the grimoire, which should be the case but is still a bleak notion, given how little is explained in game.

Reminds me of a CoD campaign, except CoD doesn't need to give much backstory as it draws from the real world. Destiny cannot do the same thing (though this is a clear attempt.) Really hope this piss excuse for a story doesn't continue or I wont be supporting it.
