I've been enlightened.

I have two friends that play pretty religiously and we used to get into arguments over hunter vs warlock (myself and one friend started with warlock, the other a hunter - though on Xbox while we were PS4)... Radiance was everything and seeing every raid clamor for warlocks and ostracize hunters seemed to back it up. But when I got around to making my 3rd alt, I finally got to experience the hunter. Their supers were underpowered in PvE and there was no extra shielding. The jumping was funny and I had difficulty reaching anything without triple jump. It was exactly what I thought it would be. Then I experienced invisibility. Vanish, Shadowjack, Stalker. I've never had such an easy time with the nightfall. Collecting ammo, scouting and eliminating snipers, reviving my Warlock friend who was trying to build up yet another extra life... A new found respect for the hunter class... Now I just need to figure out how to tell those thick-skulled titans to stop putting their damn bubbles in my LOS.

  • Started with Warlock. Liked it but thought it was too weak in PVP. Probably due to the floating but I don't think their armor is rated very high either. Made a hunter and thought meh. But I struggled with the supers. Always seemed to miss everything with BD and even though I rock a HC 95% of the time, I couldn't hit anything with GG or would die before I could get a shot off. Made Titan and haven't looked back since. Still have all three and have been giving the exotic and legendary gear I can't use on my titan to my alts so maybe they are better now with stronger gear. Still trying to max titan but I'm sure I'll go back to alts eventually.

  • I made my hunter last thinking I wouldn't like using her but tbh I use her just as much as my titan at times and honestly my main (warlock has been put on the back burner for a while now)

  • I'm not a Hunter convert but I do put them on equal footing with my Warlock now

I like all 3 of my toons and the Hunter does get shafted a bit in PVE. Invisiblility may be the second best ability behind Warlock self-res, but the golden gun is horribad against bosses and their armour seems weak compared to the others. Hunters rock the Crucible and I hate the bladedancer so much I have to use the golden gun with my Hunter or I feel like a big hypocrite. If you want to see the difference in how easy it is to kill a Hunter, go the Exclusion Zone glimmer farm with a Titan (set difficulty to hard) and then do it with a Hunter. Let the last couple of Cabal finish you off without doing anything. Often my Titan regens its health while the two turtles are blasting away and when they shield bash him he flies across the map and pops back up. My poor Hunter gets shield blasted into orbit and dies instantly. All that being said, I was considering what toon to delete of my 3 because the grind has become daunting (levelling up 3 new sets of armour at once is a pain). Then Xur lotto drops Knucklehead, Achylophage and Arachnid exotic helmets on me and it makes the thought of cutting her seem wasteful. Guess the grinding shall continue...but now I will be using the Hunter more in the Crucible....

      • I'm a bladedancer hunter myself, and all I can say is that i want to drop more orbs with my super, that and maybe not have a useless super against bosses.

        • Welcome to clan. Hunters were discriminated against in the VOG and other endgame activity because everyone wanted the Warlock cheese (and self-res easy mode) and the Titan's weapons of light (don't blame them on the Titan). Now, people are realizing that hunters are the creative, fast, and in the hands of the right player, the most skilled.

I had a Warlock as my main and started a Hunter, gunslinger is ok, I love all the reload perks ect but I hate the melee (just not into throwing knives). Bladedancer oh is sooooo where the action is. Blink strike is my kind of melee and I love it. The only problem I have with the subclass is the invisibility when crouching is in the same tree as the regen health when you use arc blade or blink strike. I was to be able to have that AND go invisible after crouching…. Its NOT FARE!!!! We need an exotic that lets us do both. I also hate it that fast twitch and escape artist(go invisible after blink strike) are in the same tree. I WANT BOTH. Fast twitch is amazing however. But if you have that and the regen heath then you basically never get to go invisible unless in your super (if you choose to have that perk). Invisibility should just be a perk you have no matter what. In PVP its amazing to crouch to go invisible. Run up behind someone, shoot them and then blink strike is very fast succession for the quick kill and you are invisible again so the guy standing next to the guy you just killed can’t destroy you (high level players still can as they know what to look for).

          • Hunters are the medics of destiny. Anyone who says hunters are PvP only or s selfish class aren't doing destiny right. It makes the revive restriction in raid that much more frustrating because it really takes awsy a dynamic of the hunter class.

          • Thank god this guy has seen the light, now if only that Titan would come out of his bubble and notice too.

          • Right now my preference is: Hunter> Titan> Warlock

          • I'm a Hunter convert as well. I started out as a Titan main, but got gear randomly dropped for a Hunter so I thought, what the hell. I ran Gunslinger first (which I love!) and just switched to Bladedancer whenever I turned in bounties to get it maxed out, too. I never messed with it until last week's Nightfall and, boy let me tell you. It was like Dorothy stepping out of the world of black and white into the world of color. Then, just to see what it was like, I turned all the perks on to max out agility and equipped the MIDA with two agility boosts. I swear my Bladedancer's walk speed was faster than my Titan's sprint speed, lol!

            • Love my hunter. I neglected him to level my warlock to 31 first and I feel bad. But now he's getting his love and man, invisible gets you out of almost everything BEFORE you die.

            • Yesterday I met up with someone in Vanguard Tiger. We were both Hunters and I swear we knew exactly what the other one was thinking during combat. It was like we had been playing together for years! We were getting Strikes done at least 30% faster than I would have with a random fireteam. More than half the time the third person left but it didn't matter because we had so much cooperation that it was like having 4 people. Keep in mind we were both Hunters with Solar and Arc Class. This showed me that even if your class doesn't have a Self-Rev or a defense bubble with a weapons buff, you can still be heck of a lot better than the other guys

                • Crota fight warlocks seem useless honestly. Level 31 cloaked blade dancer is what you want in that fight. Titan bubbles always helpful.

                  • that's where it's at for blade dancers. once I got to the point that I realized they lack a lot of utility towards end game I focused on more of a support role
