If you haven't read this, please do. This is why so many people are so upset. Bungievision used this technique and then destroyed it with the reset. All the addicted high-level players felt it, and then realized this is what they're doing.

This game is like a "freemium" game for phones. It's fun, but not too fun and you can only do so much each day. Right as you feel you are ready to leave, you get that reward that sucks you right back in. Bungie nailed it with getting that small percent who are gaming addicts to have an in breakable bond to destiny. Watch the South Park episode from the latest season. It's exactly like what I see going in with this game.

3 RepliesWell here's my story... after iron banner 2.0 ( I was playing since release) it hit me that I am 16 and I should love my lofe and stop the addicness..... well I did I only play when I FEEL LIKE IT not in my free time... like I play each friday xur nightfall weekly raid ... then that started decreasing... xur nightfall raid... then nightfall raid ... then nightfall... then I didn't log on a week to do anything I realised it's boring and I should do other stuff...... well here's the catch my best friend who is not an MMORPG fan ( I am a fan ) is now addicted more than a drug or ciggrate addict... he told me he dreans daily of this game... he couldn't leave a day without making ALL bounties.. hell he got 20 exotic bounties and I got 2... so the "reward system is making him.more addictive" he faught with me and called me a whiny horny whore because I didn't want to play the nightfall with him... and he went on to make foreign friends to play strikes with...he plays VOG like a bizzilion times for shards.... he spent 7 hours to kill CROTA only... I didn't even bother trying to tell him that he's addicted... he then gets a machine gun which could go through knight shields.. he's like f*ck yeah... ( more addictivness) I try to tell him it's not worth my time when he asks me why I didn't beat him.... he just screams NOOB!!!! Over and over... I am roughly convincing him that he should go out of his house.....I am loosing my best friend thanks to this game... even when he told me open the xbox , I was like "okay but I won't play destiny" he sais in an evil loud voice NO PLAY DESTINY over and over.... everytime I confront him he sais I could stop destiny anytime the problem is he couldn't. .......

Very good article that does a good job bringing psychological reasons for gaming addiction. I have been way to addicted to Destiny(you can check my play time if you don't believe me) and I realize it has affected my life. I have contemplated cutting video games from my life entirely because I don't think they offer anything for me in the future.

Lol what a joke this game is awsome yes but nothing like any other mmo that really stomps on your earned gear making it really useless like u were lvl 1. Destiny is easy mode prepaired to these
