Don’t expect anyone dev side to ever confirm or deny any of this, but it is obvious something happened. Maybe we’ll find out years from now, after the whole franchise has tanked. The bit about different races having different story arcs makes sense though, especially when the stranger ask my awoken if I’ve ever heard of the awoken and my ghost tells her we haven’t. That would have added a lot of re-playability too.
