Why did they give it an effect that moving closer to the enemy would give you anyway? Compared to the new exotic warlock helmet it's laughable at how useless it is. Personally I still haven't seen how much zoom it gives you but from what I hear it only increases zoom and not range. An effect I would have liked to see Arachnid have is reduce non-guardian damage when arc blade is active but uses up more super energy. That way you actually have a choice of The third man or Arachnid. What do you guys think?

I got the new arachnid helmet on launch day and have it fully upgraded. Take it from me, it is not a GREAT helmet, but is semi useful in the new raid and for other boss fights. Especially for enemies with solar shields like wizards or some of the cabal. The worst part is just getting used to the zoom because it throws you off. It's probably like triple the zoom of reg GG. It allows you to damage a boss/swordbearer/wizard/ogre from a safe distance. I'm not sure about extended range for GG. It only says improved accuracy. I'll have to test that out.
