Destiny is about to turn into a pay to win game come Tuesday, as in order to reach level 32 you have to buy the dlc, and the Next Iron Banner will put these people at an advantage...
Is this right?

Edited by RebornV3: 12/9/2014 1:18:41 AMyep all the good gear is stuck behind a DLC paywall so it is a pay to win but thats normal for these kind of games
-
I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty-headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!
-
Quit giving the clan bad rep Katie you don't even play the game!!
-
For a group that complains about CoD being a rehash every year, we sure do hate change...
-
Its not you can still get to 31 without dlc
-
Looks right to me.
-
You wanna talk 'pay to win' games, try Clash of Clans. People spend thousands to be the best. However much the DLC is not a big deal.
-
What do you recommend then? No new stories, strikes, raids, weapons or anything and keep it the exact same forever?
-
Destiny is confirmed a pay to lose game
-
Well let's look at wow. If you preordered the new expansion you automatically become a level 90. That's pay-to-win. With destiny, it's pay-to-continue. (No I don't play wow and never will. Old school runescape ftw)
-
Games have evolved, designers, editors, programmers etc. are still working on this game. You no longer just buy a game and the studio moves on (unless it's a sh|tty game). So deservingly you get what you pay for and quite frankly.... BUNGIE, TAKE MY MONEY!!!
-
Edited by OC Jeffrey: 12/9/2014 2:58:58 AMYou can only get to 31 with the new vanguard purchased gear and it's also available to everyone regardless of if you bought the DLC or not, soooo yeah, faulty logic with that argument bud, go home your drunk
-
Edited by Hippo_Legacy: 12/9/2014 1:13:46 AMthey're providing vanguard gear for everybody to get to 31, not just people that bought the DLC, and I'm sure they'll be making lvl 32 IB gear available to everyone next week.
-
That's how mmo's work!!! You're kidding right?
-
Not entirely true since the new Vanguard/Crucible armor you can get in the tower will raise your level to at least 30 and when IB comes out they'll probably make the armor you can get raise you to level 31-32 (like with the last IB raiding people to 30)
-
Having played iron banner as a 26 ima say no your wrong
-
You don't need to buy the dlc to get access to the new armor, so no, it's not pay to win.
-
Pay to win? No, only if you were able to buy the armor or shards with money will it be that
-
That's how mmos work buddy
-
In most MMOs when a expansion comes out, you have to get it to reach new level cap. Not going to argue if Destiny is a mmo or not. They did say it had some mmo aspects, this is one of those aspects. You can continue to play crucible and IB but you will be at lower level. But you made that choice by not purchasing DLC.
-
Dont play IB post dlc then. Not a hard concept.
-
Sooo... How many games do you know that releases free dlc? Cuz I only know of one: mass effect 3. And that was only cuz they effed up the ending (or so a lot of ppl thought)
-
In order to reach 30 you had to buy the game. You are either incredibly smart or incredibly stupid.
-
Edited by TheUntouchable: 12/9/2014 12:10:26 AMSo the things Is the DLc is optional however they are making the new vanguard gear for all players. So no ones buying anything
-
Pay to win requires micro transactions, and these transactions have to be non-vanity items (ex-armor). So no, it's not P2W
-
Why oh why are the education systems such a failure nowadays?
