The Gorgon maze has one mechanic everyone overlooks: Killing a Gorgon is a mechanic of the encounter.
Kill one, and you don't get 'spotted'. It doesn't count against you. Plus once you do the chat window displays "The Gorgons are stronger" or something like that. This mirrors the Perseus myth in which Perseus kills a single Gorgon, and then escapes without confronting the rest.
I'd bet dimes-to-doughnuts that if there is a super-secret seventh chest it has something to do with this. The results screen even tracks "Kills" and "Times Spotted" for the Gorgon maze. No one has found the seventh chest because no one approaches the Gorgon Maze with the myth the encounter is based on in mind.
TLDR: much of Bungie's game follows certain myths or classic literature. The Gorgon Maze is no different, and most folks haven't noticed they've been overlooking an obvious clue.

I like, but the only flaw is that it tracks the kills during that in case you didn't die in the Templar fight. It will show how many kills you got during Templar when you die in gorgon maze.

Yeah that's the rest of it: one probably can't die through the entire instance. Which would in theory be the main reason why no one's found chest #7 yet. No one said it'd be easy lol

Chest #7? I've only ever seen five confirmed. Is there a confirmed sixth that I have missed?

1-chest for opening VoG 2-Spirit Bloom 3-Secret Templar chest 4-before Gorgons (right after secret chest) 5-Gorgon chest... ... ... ...wait you're right. I think I was counting a loot drop.

One right inside the entrance, then the spirit bloom chest, then the one for no teleport on the Templar, then the one at the beginning of the Gorgon maze, the the one at the right of the Gorgon maze. These are the only five I know of. Where is the sixth?
