Getting this really bad, especially after adding a second PS4 to the network. It keeps telling us we have nat type 3, my system says type 2. I did everything possible to get type 1, and it won't work. So mad at this right now, I feel like smashing my crappy ps4, it's been nothing but a piece of junk since launch. My ps3 worked better on day 1 than my ps4 does now.

  • your router doesn’t have Upnp had the same issue get belkin N600, it has upnp it’s about $40 at walmart plug it into router, follow usual set up plug one consol into router via ethernet, put other consol on wifi. N600 will take care of the rest, it’s plug and play. could try one on wifi and one on ethernet into current router before purchasing N600- this tricks the system into thinking it’s not on same network, but only works if you have upnp in router. also try renaming both consoles something different so they don’t match Party chat on ps4 bypasses NAT voice issues, so if you can join fire team with person on second console then just use party chat not regular fire team chat but everything will work A LOT better if you set belkin since it has upnp, plug and play-fixed our NAT type issues too

  • Have you checked with your Internet provider? They should be able to get you to at least type 2, depending who it is. They can walk you thru how to change your router settings.

  • Bypassed the built-in router in the modem they gave me (which i thought was good), and hooked in an old linksys router... all problems solved.
