Yes they will in dlc you can hit 31 with legendary gear (not raid) so that sux I finally get 3 30s and its pointless

Mats are cheap now, and most people have more ascendants than they need

True enough, but that would still be a waste imo, I never leveled to 29 for that reason. Not until I had raid gear which brought me to that level.
