If new weapons would not have more attack, we would be screwed in level 33 raid!

Yes but I want to know if I'll be able to further upgrade my fatebringer and VoC to ensure they don't become useless in the higher level content.
-
New raid has new solar Scout and new Arc Hand Cannon I think...so most likely not.
-
Hand cannon will be void. Dunno about the scout. I happen to like the perks on my current guns too.
-
New raid has a new, different void hand cannon with a slightly different prefromance and new perks, but is NOT Fatebringer. The new weapons are different with new perks, different elements, with different specs. If oldies can be raised, they'll run just fine, balanced even, side by side, and you'd still want to have the respective weapons for the respective raids due to their raid specific perks with raised attack on old weapons you'd be able to bring ANY weapon you like into newer high level activity, rather than be possibly forced into using a weapon you don't like, just because your older weapon is being penalized, not because it's an inferior weapon..

Well, you are right in this. But from what I understand, they have not planned this. BUT, this would not only make VoG weapons obsolete, this would also make pretty much every legendary obsolete at some point. So I am curious to see, how this will work out.
-
The higher your light level is, the higher you damage output. Your weapons will scale with you.
-
There is probably no way how to upgrade legendaries. But what I have seen in some databases every legendery is still 300 dmg even new ones. I guess only new exotics will be upgradeable, not the current ones.
-
Pretty sure the current exotics will have new upgrade slots when DLC arrives. My bet is two each, costing one exotic shard each.
-
So do you think that people without DLC will be able to upgrade exotic weapons to 331 dmg and armor to higher light level than 30? I am not sure.
-
No. They don't need it and Bungie doesn't want to make the old raid a joke
-
Hard to say how they will do it, but I am absolutely positive they will not make Exotics obsolete. I'd say that non-DLC owners probably can get the Light on their Exotics higher (still not gain a level due to 1-exotic limit) and probably upgrade the weapons as well, yes. But they may have different systems to handle this, we will find out in less than a week.
