In in a random hard raid group today that was actually pretty good despite a few annoying wait times.
We get to the oracles, somebody suggests we wipe and snipe the oracles. 2 players in our party stated that they wouldn't even consider "cheesing" the oracles. I argued that after playing the content for the 20th time, I'd prefer to do whatever takes the least amount of time.
Cliff: Do you "cheese" the oracles or do you find this method dishonorable?
After 4 wipes at rounds 4-6, we "cheesed" the oracles ultimately to save time......
Edit1: I have and can beat the oracles regularly, I just prefer to snipe them on hard mode. Especially with a random team, one wipe and you've wasted time. Give me some new content and I'll run through it the "normal" way.
Edit 2: love the responses, I guess I am not the only one with common sense and a life outside of Destiny. Again, I created this post because the 2 players were basically offended that sniping the oracles was recommended. I wanted to see how the community felt in general. I see that my preference fits with majority

I like how the "valid tactic" of cheesing starts with "Let's all kill ourselves." Unless everyone is doing confluxes from the upper platform, don't tell me it's a "valid tactic." From a developer's standpoint the raid is expected to be done flawlessly, we just happen to exploit our ability to die and revive continuously. I sincerely hope a countdown for kill volume or some spawning threat on the upper platform eliminates this cheap and boring "tactic." I'm already tired of getting randoms on every part that ask - Are we hiding from legions?? No. - Are we cheesing oracles?? No. - Are we pushing Templar off?? No. - But what about the extra chest with our pointless couple ascendants?? Block his teleports if you want it so bad. - Are we doing gatekeepers one at a time?? No. - Are we pushing Atheon off?? No. I'm already running into 30s that have no idea how to do parts of the raid because of this nonsense. It's pathetic.
