I usually don't bother with making threads about guitar stuff as no one really cares and that's completely understandable as this is a video game forum, but since there are a good number of guitarist here, I'll tell you about them anyway.
I bought some hand made picks recently for the anniversary of my eviction from the womb and they are absolutely worth every expensive penny. Lately I've been slacking it and haven't even been able to play a c major scale faster than normally without sounding like I have hot dogs for fingers... But these picks...
I normally use dunlop tortex standard and jazz IIIs .88, but these picks with their tapered design feel so much better. Here are some comparison pictures. The one on the right is the same shape as the one on the left, just slightly bigger, but still smaller than a dunlop standard. Another company to check out is Hufschmid, although I haven't tried his yet and they're much more expensive but I've heard nothing but good things.

Wow i never really chose my picks i just used whatever was laying around those look sweet

I didn't think too many people were picky with their picks (hue). And I see I'm like other people here and tend to lose them rather quick. So its just basic comfort and firmness that I'm after
-
Those are cool, but I'd most likely end up losing them. I've lost picks that I got from guitarists at shows.

Just a confused drummer walking through.

Just bought 12 heavy duty fender gel picks for 5 bucks today. They be good. I have a five string bass, so heavy duty picks are the way to go. You electric guitar people are nubs
-
so i'm a noob. and everyone goes on about picks and what not... what's wrong with nylon/tortex?
-
I only use the pick of destiny.
-
I've taught myself to play without picks, I can alternate pick, sweep, and play PH notes just as well without as most can with.
-
Those look cool. I can't get away from my Dunlop jazz III's (red).

I use these. They're great for guitar or the occasional bass picking. And they don't wear down like other picks.

Dude I've been looking for some good picks for a long time and this is absolutely perfect! Thanks so much for sharing this

Edited by Uncle Putin: 11/27/2014 11:05:29 PMHmm, I'll take a look at those. I'm not crazy about finding the perfect pick because all that matters to me is having decent stiffness and it feels comfortable to me (yes, that sounded uncomfortably sexual). I'll get them if they aren't too expensive. Also I'd like to note, when I use picks for a long time, they tend to get tapered from the wear and it's actually pretty nice.
-
Nah, I'll stick to Tortex, cheaper and they last forever.
