Those are all really good theories but I have one question. If somehow we are inside the traveler how is it when after the heart is destroyed that we are in the same spot but the ghost says that we are back on Mars? It seemed to me that for a time we were in some strange place in between time and space during the time after we pass threw the portal. After we beet the three copied bosses we are just brought back to our same time and space where it turned out to be on mars the whole time

We used Vex technology to get there. Like in many fantasy stories and RPGs, what happens when a wizard teleports you somewheres and you kick his ass? You return to your starting point.

You are right but this is not for the sake of the rpg it's part of the story plot. In an rpg after the mission is done it normally sends you back to the point if Origen but this was a plot point. We go threw a portal, bet the dude, and while we are still in the same area that we beat the boss the ghost says that we are back on Mars leading to beleave that we were there the whole time just between space and time or what really? The bad writing doesn't specify or give and kind of good answer
