It needs actual recoil IMO. I think the Suros atm is straight up broken. It's like a high-damage, no-recoil laser-beam with the range of a scout rifle.

Recoil is just a way to mess with damage application. While I agree it applies its damage too consistently, I think the issue is more that the actual range stat is too high.

  • I think recoil adds a skill gap to a weapon. battlefield does it well with certain weapons like the AEK..... Super high damage, but tricky to control. The Suros is just like easy mode at the moment. You're right about the range too. We've all been sniped by Suros in the Iron Banner right? :P

  • I've been sniped by Fusions rifles more... and from ranges you'd think were reserved for sniper and scout rifles leaving me saying WTF!? Some fusion rifles ranges need nerfing before suros As for the OP, good feedback (not sure why people are raggin on you for it instead of just saying basic stuff like "I agree" or "disagree") and interesting solution but I don't think Suros is the only go to option in PvP for mainhand as I've been killed far more by other weapons like Hawkmoon and Fusion Rifles like Pocket Infinity so in my opinion if other equally useful/deadly options exist then I don't believe the Suros deserves a change of perks for PvP. I don't have the stats of course but if Bungie reviews there data and its overwhelming that Suros is doing the most killing by a large margin then I'd be all for reviewing Suros.

  • Yeah, I know what you mean. I've been sniped by 77 Wizard a lot. That gun's range is insane.... If you look in the weekly update that mentions the Mythoclast buff, they talk about the fact that the Suros outperforms every other weapon, and say they address balance issues like that when they can. SO I'd say to expect a slight re-balancing of Suros.

I think trying to add recoil skill gaps in destiny with things besides hand cannons is a bit naive, skill in Destiny tends to be about movement and positioning more than aim, and while some elements of the game undermine that(supers. -_-) I don't think the Suros is one of them. I think the 'easy mode' recoil on it isn't really a problem, it's part of the identity of the weapon. Just because it's easy doesn't mean it's overpowered.

  • Bungie themselves said it outperforms every other exotic and that they're looking to nerf it, so I think it's definitely OP.

  • I do think it's OP, but I don't think the easy-ness is what makes it so, is what I meant.

  • Multi-tool/verdict/IB 1.0 Jolder's Hammer on a blade dancer with fast twitch, hungering blade, sticky nades, max agility, fleet footed, and blink. Exotic armor is third man. I like playing high mobility, basically. The shotgun-blink combo is effective at around the range where using the multi-tool starts to get dicey, and Jolder's Hammer is basically just a monster (to the point I often don't pick up heavy ammo because it's unfun just melting face with it.) This isn't my BEST combo note, just my favorite one. I think the multi-tool is a really fun gun.

Multi-Tool? Really? I thought that was one of the below-par exotics.... Got it from the raid a few weeks back, but it just seemed underwhelming to me when I took it into the crucible. Jealous of Jolder's Hammer though. I was desperate for one. I grinded 3 characters to IB level 5 and got 2 ships, 4 Hand Cannons, but never Jolder's Hammer :(

I got my hammer in in the first banner, so yeah no luck involved. The multi-tool isn't the best gun, but when used properly it IS better than the VoC. Both guns kill in 3 headshots + 1 body shot, and the multi-tool has a higher maximum rate of fire and therefore a marginally faster TTK. It also has a larger magazine, better handling, faster reload, and increases movement speed. The main downside is that the scope on the gun is misaligned (need to aim above where their head is to reliably headshoot), and it has a tendency to bounce up when taking fire that can throw your headshots off. The VoC does have a faster TTK on body shots, and can kill in two headshots + two body shots, but if you're using a scout rifle why are you getting body shots? Like I said though, the gun is *fun* not good, and it does need a buff, though. Probably trade the hair trigger for hip-fire stability so you could use it unzoomed like a pulse rifle, in order to emphasize the 'useful in all situations' nature of it. People knocking it for it's TTK are really just criticizing it for its weapon subclass though, and mocking it for being a high ROF scout rifle. In terms of other exotics, even though the multi-tool isn't amazing the exotic weapon slot competition isn't exactly steep, and the way I fight can actually benefit from the Multi-tool's movement speed so I use it. Also, I *love* moving fast. Also, using the multi-tool frees up my armor exotic slot so I don't need to use knucklehead. Third Eye is a very powerful perk.
