I think its kind of great there is no trading system. I feel like its very fair, everything you have you found or earned. Nothing was handed you and everyone has an equal chance. Plus I think it's cleaner. If you've ever seen a trading center on an MMO they can be pretty ugly :/ I would hate see that on this game unless they created a completely separate area for trading. I think it's an improvement. I would actually be disappointed if they did have one.

  • I'd agree with you if we didn't get so many duplicate items. I don't want 4 of the same gun or gear. I have so many duplicate items it's not funny. I have two vex mythoclast. I can't use two but I know I could trade for a gjallahorn if someone had duplicates of it. Or the epilogue for example i have 4 my clan mates all want one and can't seem to earn it during the raid. It's not theyre fault that after 20 raid runs they can't find one. I would happily trade them for an equal legendary do why not. If its a fair trade and you limit us to one trade a week I would be all about it.

  • Extra guns are just extra material for upgrades. Thats their purpose. Or so that you can give them to your other characters without having to put your stuff in the vault constantly. I don't think its really a reason to put a trading system. Heres why I dont think we need one: "As it is now everyone has completely fair odds of getting whatever weapon/gear. With a trading system people with more time to play get richer and have better stuff because they will have things to trade for what they want. I dont think its worth it for the occasional hand out to cause such a divide between players. With a trading system strong players who happen to be lucky or have more time will continue to get stronger and do better. While new, solo, casual and weaker players will continue to become weaker and struggle."

  • We need trading. My friend said he would trade the raid chest, boots and thunder lord for my access 4 raid grips and helm...

  • That's my point. My luck in this game sucks, while my friend's thrive. Why not balance that? I've done the raid on hard each week for about 6 weeks now, and they haven't done it once. Why can't I catch them up with some hard raid spoils in return for some weapons for me to add to my collection? I worked hard for my stuff, while they got lucky. I think it's fair if you don't have much luck.

  • Yes it does suck. But it sucks for /everyone/ thats the point. Luck is not a real stat in real life. Its based on chance and everyone has equal odds no matter how you slice it.

  • Unfortunately you've just counter-negated your own point. This game is in dire need of a trading system not matter how much you disagree or how "bad" you think the game will become. I have a fellow clanmate who for five weeks in a row, has done both the normal and the hard raid, and has gotten the EXACT SAME loot every single time. Personally, that sounds more like a bug in the game's core mechanics to me than anything else, and to be honest, fixing something that deep in the game would be too time consuming to be dealt with. You state that luck is not a real stat in real life, true, but in the gaming world it is a real stat. Counter-negating yourself trading is a real mechanic in real life. Who cares if everyone can get to 30, or if people who are lucky can get more of what they want, it does not affect you in any way, shape, or form. And to try to come in here and give a philosophy exercise in how the "noobs" will be worthless, that's also a load of bull. If you put the time and effort into any MMO game, you'll get the materials, or the currency you need to buy what you want. Same thing applies here, so what if you've got some 30/32 who just gets everything and now has a shop for more loot. The way this game is set up, there is no real purpose to having a ton of Exotics and copies of them, so it'd be better off for them to trade their duplicates for the items they want to have, heck even let them trade it for like a couple thousand Spinmetal and they'll be happy. My point being, it doesn't matter if someone is richer than you or if a lot of people are poor, it has no effect on you what so ever. Capitalism works in the real world, and it will work the same in Destiny. If you put the work in to earn a lot of stuff, you will be successful in the market for the goods.

  • Sounds like the loot system needs to be fixed not that we need a trading system. There is no such thing as "lucky" mathematically we all have the same odds. Thats how it should be in a game like this. And the divide does have an affect on you since there are PVP aspects to the game. (also I dont know what youre talking about Capitalism is really shitty in the real world.) Also this is a video game. You can hardly compare how capitalism works in real life vs how it would work the game. Its very easy to see what the result would be and like I said. People with more time to invest will dominate and players with less time will be left behind and struggle.

  • Well said. But I'm nearly certain that if Bungie did implement a trading system into their game, there would be a separate area, like a market of sorts. Maybe players could even "rent" out little carts and trade stuff as if they had their own little shop.

  • I suppose depending on how it's done it could be a good feature. Would still kill the raw fairness of it all. But I'm not saying it can't be good. Guess we'll see. I know a lot of players really want it.
